1. What's So Great About The Greatest Networker?
Reason #1 . . .
Belief

What does belief have to do with success?
Everything.
What you believe determines the results you experience in your life.
Check out my website for more on this.
In a coaching class I took a couple of years ago, the instructor, Dr. David Krueger, asked, "Have any of you seen a yellow jeep in the last month?"
I thought, "There are no yellow jeeps. What are you talking about?"
I didn't believe that yellow jeeps existed . . . and I didn't see any.
He had us visualize one and at the end of the exercise, told us to email him when we saw a yellow jeep.
I thought, "Ya. Whatever."
And then I started seeing yellow jeeps.
My belief was wrong. Yellow jeeps do exist.
My belief was challenged . . . and changed . . . and now I see yellow jeeps all the time. My reality is different now that my belief is different.
Dr. Krueger's point was that our belief system determines what we experience.
It's true.
Yellow jeeps symbolize possibilities for me now and whenever I see one (which is quite frequently), I think, "Possibilities."
Believe that anything is possible . . . that your dreams are possible.
Create new beliefs.
Write them down and read and visualize them every day.
Create a vision and goals based on your new beliefs . . . without all your previous limitations.
And watch your dreams come true.
The Importance of Belief
You will only achieve what your habits of belief allow.

2. What's So Great About The Greatest Networker?
Reason #2 . . .
Asking Questions

Hmmm.
Does "asking questions" make you scratch your head, screw up your face in confusion and wonder what in the world it has to do with success?
If it does, what's your perception of asking questions? Do you view it as a "weak" position that indicates that you don't know something . . . and that the one who's in control of a conversation is the one who has the knowledge and is showing it?
A lot of people believe that.
But asking questions is actually extremely powerful.
More powerful than doing all the talking and showing your knowledge.
Why?
Because asking questions empowers people.
How?
Well, at its most basic level, it makes them feel special . . . like you care about them . . . like it's all about them.
In the process, it lets you get to know them.
Think about this in the context of speaking with a prospect for your network marketing business. As you focus on them and get to know them, you can keep asking more questions based on what they tell you that can help guide them toward what they're searching for . . . toward what's a good fit for them. But it lets them discover what's a good fit for them.
Pretty cool, huh?
Telling people everything or advising them disempowers them because it makes them dependent on you. Asking questions empowers people because it lets them search inside themselves, or elsewhere if they need to, to find their own wisdom. The answers they find mean more to them. And they develop resourcefulness.
Asking another person questions, really listening to their answers, and seeking to understand, also lets you guide them deep inside themselves to where their values and passions and purpose live.
And this brings me to the next point . . .
3. What's So Great About The Greatest Networker?
Reason #3 . . .
Listening
Once you've asked a question, listen.Really listen.
Most of the time, people listen through their own noise - you know . . . all the stuff that goes on in your head when someone else is talking. Opinions, perceptions, agreements, disagreements, judgments . . . or what you ate for breakfast and what you have to do when you're done the conversation!
That's not really listening. That's hearing what you think they're saying. It's filtering it . . . evaluating it . . . even ignoring it. And you're busier formulating your next response than truly hearing what the other person is saying.
As well, people most often listen only to the words being spoken.
But there's much more to listening than just hearing the words. There's also everything that's not being said . . . like body language, repeated words, missing parts, inconsistencies, nervous laughter, emotion, energy, tone, pitch and what your intuition is telling you.
So, next time you listen, be quiet. Quiet your mind. And quiet your words. Pay attention to all the subtleties that are occurring as the other person speaks. Really hear them. And respond back to them with more questions, or with statements that reflect your understanding.
4. What's So Great About The Greatest Networker?
Reason #4 . . .
Working with Others to Clarify Their Values
What's a value?A value is something that is vitally important to you.
You can check out my website to learn more.
It's important to clarify your values and live in a way that's true to them so that there's a fit in your life.
And it's important to help your prospects and distributors clarify their values.
John Milton Fogg writes, "Unless you've been taught to help people discover or reveal their own values and what's really important to them, you can't connect your opportunity to anything lasting or meaningful in their lives."
When you know what's important to someone . . . when you know what they really want . . . you can show them how you and your opportunity can help them realize that.
5. What's So Great About The Greatest Networker?
Reason #5 . . .
Working with Others to Discover Their Life Purpose
I love the way that the greatest networker helped the person he was mentoring discover his life purpose. The greatest networker asked him questions that led him, in his imagination, to watch the movie of his life. He imagined being in a theater with thousands of people, watching the amazing story of his life. He saw everything that he'd want it to include . . . and experienced it with all his senses and emotions. From it, he learned his life purpose . . . his reason for being here . . . the passions and gifts and talents that he was to share with others and with the world.
Can you imagine the power of knowing this for yourself?
And the power of helping your prospects and downline discover their purpose . . . and how your network marketing opportunity can help them fulfill it?

6. What's So Great About The Greatest Networker?
Reason #6 . . .
Championing Others
I included a picture of people cheering here. And that's probably what you think of when you read the word "championing."
But that's actually not what this section is all about. It's not about being a cheerleader and shouting encouragements like, "You can do it!"
It's about empowering others.
It's about championing others' success . . . taking a stand for their success.
This includes seeing the big picture and helping to move others there. It might involve some stretching . . . and some discomfort to move past obstacles . . . not just cheering!
The video below is a very moving example of this.

7. What's So Great About The Greatest Networker?
Reason #7 . . .
Demeanor

I'm calling this section "demeanor" . . . and what I mean is how you present yourself . . . your attitude . . . your posture.
And it includes:
- smiling
- warmth
- honesty
- and being a learner
And it involves development - - self-development.
Rod Moore once said, "The way to move up the scale . . . towards 100% probability [of success in network marketing] is to spend more time working on you than you do [on] the business. . . . To live a diamond lifestyle you first must become a diamond."
Very true.
So be sure to spend time working on yourself . . . and teach your team to do the same.
8. What's So Great About The Greatest Networker?
Reason #8 . . .
Teaching

Of course you want to teach your team everything you know. You want them to be successful.
But two things stand out in "The Greatest Networker" about teaching:
1. You have to want those you teach to surpass you . . . to be better than you.
2. You don't just want to teach the skills of prospecting and 3-way calling, for example. You want to teach others to teach others . . . teach your team to teach others to succeed.
9. What's So Great About The Greatest Networker?
Reason #9 . . .
Leadership

Leadership really encompasses everything I've written about here.
A good leader:
- listens
- asks questions
- champions others
- celebrates success
- celebrates, honors and appreciates others
- teaches everything they can
- believes . . . and works on creating empowering, positive beliefs in themselves . . . and coaches their team to do the same
- helps others tap into those most important things at the core of their being - their values and life purpose
- works on self-development

What's The Greatest Networker's Secret to Success?

The secret is that success isn't about what you know . . . or what you don't yet know.
As John Milton Fogg states, success lives in "what you don't know that you don't know."
It's a state of being.
You either are it. Or you're not.
It All Comes Down to This . . .
What's Success?
Success is a state of being.
You're either being successful, or you're not.
You either are success(ful), or you're not.
