FAQ's

Frequently asked questions of The Holy Bible

Q:Why are there so many versions of The Holy Bible?
A:The reason for so many translations is due to the fact that the language used in the source documents utilized some words and phrases that cannot be translated without a clear understanding of it's context. For example there were four words in Greek that were used for our one word of 'love'. That's one word/concept of many, that had very similar definitions, but entirely wrong concepts taken out of context. While you can read the bible like any other book, to truly understand God's word takes prayer, fellowship with others, and actually comparing different translations of the scriptures. For example, I have found that while the word 'pride' is used rather loosely as a positive word/concept in the NIV version, while other translations avoid it in the same verses and use other words like 'boasting'. This is because of the verses that explicitly refer to 'pride' as something God detests. If it's the face of God, you seek, study the bible with others who desire the same, because God's word was not written in a vacuum, so neither should it be read in one.

Q:Isn't The Holy Bible just a bunch of moral stories compiled into one book?
A:The Holy Bible is the word of God. It's was breathed by God and written down by man. If you take a close look, you may see how the whole Bible leads to Jesus in it's prophecies and blood line. This shows how the Old Testament and New Testament are one, and cannot be separated.

Q:What about all of the inaccuracies found in The Holy Bible?
A:What inaccuracies?

Pathway to Victory with Dr. Robert Jeffress
Dr. Robert Jeffress is a "pull-no-punches" type of pastor. He can seem arrogant at times, but I've constantly been blessed by his blunt explanations of God's word. Dr. Jeffress reminds you that seeking God's will is not just all about warm and gushy feelings when you leave church.
