Disney Pixar Movie The Incredibles

Mr Incredible used to love his job as a super hero. His amazing strength was once a great asset to mankind, but some time in the 1980s things started to go horribly wrong.

Mr Incredible is on a mission to foil an attack by Bomb Voyage. He is in a big hurry to save humanity when he is spotted by a young fan, Buddy Pine who dreams of being his sidekick. Mr Incredible is too busy to take the time to be nice to his young fan and just wants to get away from him as soon as possible.

Things go horribly wrong for Mr Incredible when his daring rescue results in a train wreck that injures over 100 people.

It turns out that Mr Incredible was not only in a rush to save the world, but was also almost late for his wedding to Elastagirl.

It truly was a fateful day as Mr Incredible's world changes forever when the fear of litigation forces the government to stop their sponsorship of the super hero program. Not only this but the feelling against the supers is so strong that they have to join a hero protection program and take on a new identity.

Can Mr Incredible really be happy as an insurance agent? And will his failure to take time with his number one fan come back to haunt him?

The Incredibles DVD has a lot of extra features as well as the full length feature film. If you enjoyed the movie it is always great to learn about how it was made and see some scenes that never made it to the movie.

One of my favorite extra features on the DVD is Jack Jack Attack. It is one of the best Disney Pixar short films I have seen. You get to see exactly that happened when enthusiastic babysitter Kari has to look after Jack Jack when his parents are out of town being super heroes.

Other features include more deleted scenes, an interview with Brad Bird the director and voice of Syndrome, and More Making of The Incredibles.

We don't know much about Elastigirl's career before the start of the movie - but we do know that she is a match for husband Bob Parr known as Mr Incredible. The super couple get married and have 3 children Violet, Dash and Jack Jack.

Elastigirl can not only stretch herself up to 300 feet but also is a great pilot, and stay at home mom.

Once upon a time Buddy Pine was Mr Incredible's number one fan. He dreamed of being a super hero and gave himself the name Incredi-Boy. The only problem is he doesn't have any real super powers.

Buddy is so excited when he meets his hero. He is desperate to show Mr Incredible his mechanical design skills by demonstrating his rocket boots. But Mr Incredible is on a mission and doesn't have time for him, and dismisses his ideas as a joke.

This rejection has a huge effect on Buddy and triggers his transformation to super villain Syndrome. He uses his design skills to become a hugely rich weapons designer, but his real mission is revenge.

Over a period of 15 years he develops the Omnidroid. He perfects the Omnidroid design - the ultimated robot of destruction - over which he has complete control. He plots to trick the world into thinking he has super powers by witnessing his defeat of the Omnidroid. He will one day make it seem that he has saved the world. But he thinks the true genius of his plan is how he will bring down Mr Incredible. Will he succeed in his plan?

Dash has a big secret which he finds very difficult to hide - has can run at incredible speed. This is proving to be a big problem at school, particularly during sports when he simply has to slow down and disguise his amazing ability.

The Incredibles almost wasn't a Disney movie. It's director Brad Bird was with Warner Brothers at the time it was first being developed. But then Warner Brothers shut down it's animation division and Brad Bird moved to Disney, taking his story with him.

Violet is just a typical teenager. Well perhaps not quite typical. She can make herself invisible and also create an inpenetrable force field around herself. The dream of many teenagers wanting to avoid their parents...

Watch out for a continuity error with Violet - her parting often switches sides throughout the movie.

It seems that baby Jack-Jack just doesn't have any super powers. His parents are suprised but perhaps pleased that he won't have any of the pressures of being a super hero.

One of my favorite Disney Pixar short films is Jack Jack Attack which is included on The Incredibles DVD. See just what happened when Kari the babysitter is left to look after baby Jack Jack.

You may be lucky enough to meet Mr Incredible and Elastagirl personally. They appear regularly at Disney World and Disneyland and are always ready to sign autographs for you.

Mirage is a complex character who uses her charm, espionage skills and of course her beauty to locate and persuade the supers to test Syndromes Omnidroids.

Mirage appears to be calm and without compassion - but will something cause her to turn away from the dark side?
