Who is "The IRC?"
We're an organization that goes to war zones to rescue and then rebuilds lives. Founded in 1933, the IRC is a global leader in emergency relief, rehabilitation, protection of human rights, protection, post-conflict development, resettlement services and advocacy for refugees and others uprooted or affected by violent conflict and oppression. We bring the world's most vulnerable people from "From Harm to Home."
This lens has some neat stuff on it - track the IRC in the blogsphere, look at pics and more!
For the rest of the story, visit our website and read our blog.
And don't forget that you can build a web page to raise money and awareness for our work, too!
Women of Darfur
WOMEN OF DARFUR
The IRC's Emily Holland recently traveled to Darfur to document the lives of displaced Sudanese. In this video, she takes us inside several camps for displaced persons and describes how the IRC is helping women—from providing water and shelter to offering skills trainings and the chance to make a living. SIGN THE PETITION!
- HELP IRAQI REFUGEES
- More than two million refugees from Iraq have fled to neighboring countries, including Jordan and Syria. Another two million Iraqis are displaced within Iraq due to violence and persecution. The needs of these uprooted people are enormous.
Many fleeing Iraqis have no legal status in nearby countries and desperately need our help. Inside Iraq they are living with chronic insecurity, extreme poverty, and shortages of food and medicine.
The U.S. has a special responsibility to protect and assist these Iraqis. Send a strong message to your local Congressperson and Senator now!

- I concern with home living for disaster victims in Indonesia, because it's so many disaster and the main problem always about the housing. For example: mud flood in Sidoarjo which is reach bigger area now, flood in Jakarta, earthquake in Sumatra and Sulawesi, terrorism in some critical area, etc.
