The Jesus Poem

A baby boy was born
In a manger he did lay
Wise men came to worship him
This child in the hay

A pre-teen only twelve years old
Went missing for three days
His parents found him quizzing
Religious leaders and their ways

A carpenter from Nazareth
Claimed to be God's Son
Said he was the only way
To reach the holy one

A man up on a hill
Died between two thieves
Roman soldiers killed him
No crime had he conceived

A corpse lay in a grave
Outside Jerusalem's walls
Most thought he was dead for good
No decay he saw at all

Over five hundred people saw him
This man raised up to life
In forty days God lifted him
Back up into the sky

Two millennia later
This man is still alive
He stands and knocks at your heart's door
Will you let him come inside?
