The Last Lecture

A truly pleasant read. Although we were presented with the facts, I somehow wanted to believe the ending would result in him saying he was cured. It made me smile, it brought me to tears, but more importantly, forced me to appreciate every day that carries me over to my next, and possibly last, tomorrow.

The Last Lecture is a book filled with living-life-to-the-fullest advice from a college professor. While to some this might sound as interesting as reading a doctoral dissertation, you'd be surprised.

The author, Randy Pausch, a professor of computer science at Carnegie Mellon who was diagnosed with terminal cancer, writes so well that you'd probably let him teach you about computers too. Some things he talks about include: remember to laugh, seizing every moment, overcoming obstacles, appreciate the gifts you recieve, and enabling the dreams of others.

Although the author died this year, his wisdom will no doubt be around awhile in this very enlightening book. Other books in this genre I liked include "Finding Happiness in a Frustrating World".

I read the book last week. Quite disappointed considering the great review over it. the As the author mentioned in the book, he would like to pass this book to his kids when they grow up.He is successful in achieving that.As far from that, who would like to read unknown person's story from the start he is born, his family, what he likes to do as a kid, drawing on walls, etc... it gets quite boring for me reading it. I mean who cares what u do in your life unless u r a famous celebrity. The Last chapter of the book is something a little more worth reading, although it may look it has been put in forcefully in a way, where he share his ideas on well being tips, Bingo!! only then i feel "yea thats smth i can relate too" But i would rather read a self-improvement book which totally focus on that topic.
