Why? I wanted to tell the "story behind the story", to tell about the events in my life that lead up to the writing of The Legacy Of Sleepy Hollow. This story is so special to me, for so many reasons. I just wanted to give you a little insight into the creation of it, how it came about.

Braughton Van Ripper:
(nephew to Hans Van Ripper)
Callum Mather:
(descendant of Cotton Mather who, in Washington Irving's classic story, was the author of the book "History of New England Witchcraft" that Ichabod often read and quoted from during his stay in Sleepy Hollow.)
Those are the main characters from the story. There are a whole host of other interesting people, however.

But soon he gives up trying to help her, he throws away books of his memories as they are just too painful to look at. As he tries his hardest to make Katrina remember, she suddenly turns on him saying 'she wishes he never came to Sleepy Hollow' but as Ichabod leaves, she suddenly remembers what would've happened if she hadn't passed out after the Headless Horseman, but thinking it's too late she collapses to her knees, but when she looks around, there's Ichabod. How I felt when the writing was finished
A couple days before an idea had popped into my mind that life did not end in Sleepy Hollow when Ichabod disappeared. In fact, I knew he had a son...several children actually.
Everyone already knew Brom did manage to get Katrina to the altar after Ichabod disappeared, but...did they know about Katherine?
It still amazes me how vividly these characters appeared in my thoughts. I spent a wonderful two months getting to know them better, living with them, and the day I typed "THE END", I cried. I really cried.
Writing The Legacy Of Sleepy Hollow was the most fun I've had writing a story yet. I just hope my readers enjoy reading it as much as I loved writing it.
