Welcome to Santa Carla!

Murder Capital of the World

After their parents' divorce, Sam and Michael Emerson find themselves moving from trendy Phoenix to coastal tourist town Santa Carla. Along with their mother they move into their eccentric grandfather's house. Granpa not only loves double-stuffed Oreos but also taxidermies animals for fun.

While hanging out at the local boardwalk, Michael falls for a mysterious girl. While his younger brother Sam makes friends with the comic book sellers cum crime fighting local teens the Frog Brothers, Michael falls in with The Lost Boys. A bunch of local punks with souped up bikes, there's something wild and dangerous about the four teens. As Michael becomes one of the Boys, the ramifications of his involvement becomes crystal clear...

Now that Michael knows what the Lost Boys are, he, his brother Sam and the Frog Brothers set out to stop them in an no-holds barred fight!

About the Film

Released July 31st, 1987, The Lost Boys took in over $30 million at the box office, a good take for an R-rated film during the summer months. It also went on to be one of the best-selling VHS releases for Warner Home Video during the 1990s.

The film has attained a "cult-classic" status, paving the way the likes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Blade, and Underworld just to name a few. The use of makeup and contact lenses for the vampires' transformations went on to influence countless other new vampires in television and film.

Twenty years after its release, a 2-disc Special Edition DVD was released, which included deleted scenes, trivia, and interviews with the cast and crew. The movie has gone on to spawn at least one sequel, the upcoming Lost Boys: The Tribe, as well as a 4-part comic book miniseries The Lost Boys: Reign of Frogs.

Meet Michael Emerson

Played by Jason Patric

Michael Emerson has just moved to Santa Carla with his mom and brother. Forced to leave behind all his friends, he spies Star on the Boardwalk one night. Instantly smitten, he finds out there's more to this mysterious girl who hangs around with the Lost Boys.

Immediately accepted into the gang, strange things start happening to Michael. When David and the Lost Boys finally reveal their true nature, a plea from Star spurs Michael into action! With help from his brother Sam and the Frog Brothers, they set out to put at stop to the Lost Boys!

Meet Sam Emerson

Played by Corey Haim

An all-American mall rat who worships the Brat Pack, comic books and MTV, Sam Emerson can't believe his mom made him and his brother move to the tiny town of Santa Carla. His grandfather doesn't even own a TV!

Fortunately, Sam befriends Edgar and Alan Frog. And when his brother needs him, Sam and his friends help Michael to stop the Lost Boys.

Meet Lucy & Grandpa

Dianne Wiest & Barnard Hughes

Lucy Emerson has just divorced her husband and moved her two sons to her father's house in Santa Carla. An ex-hippie, Lucy has settled into being a down-to-earth mom.

Flat broke, she accepts a job (and a date) from Max, the owner of a local video store. But things at home fall apart as Michael starts staying up all night and Sam makes some outrageous claims about Max.

Grandpa, Lucy's dad, lives outside Santa Carla in a huge cabin. A taxidermist by trade, he practices Indian walking, playing dead, and dates the Widow Johnson. He loves double stuft Oreos and root beer. Instead of watching TV, he reads the TV Guide. And the one thing he can't stomach about living in Santa Carla is "all the damn vampires!"

Meet David

Played by Kiefer Sutherland

David. In his over-sized black trench coat with a smirk on his lips, he's the leader of the Lost Boys.

David and his gang rule the Santa Carla Boardwalk. Young and sexy, they are terrorizing locals and tourists alike. When Star falls for Michael Emerson, David welcomes Michael into the gang.

But there's a secret David and his gang are hiding. When Sam and the Frog Brothers make the first strike, David and the Lost Boys have no choice but to retaliate!

Meet the Lost Boys

Paul, Dwayne, Marko, Star, & Laddie

Young, sexy, hip. These are the Lost Boys, the local vampire gang who rules the nights of Santa Carla.

Lead by David, the Boys help keep the unwanted title of 'Murder Capital of the World' in the forefront of locals' minds. Paul, Dwayne, and Marko spend the nights prowling the Boardwalk amusement park, hanging out and picking fights with local gang the Surf Nazis.

Having taken in Star and Laddie, both half-vampires, the Boys are always looking for a good time. But you just might end up dead!

Played by: Brooke McCarter (Paul), Billy Wirth (Dwayne), Alexander Winter (Marko), Jami Gertz (Star) & Chance Michael Corbitt (Laddie)

Meet The Frogs Brothers

Corey Feldman & Jamison Newlander

Edgar and Alan Frog aren't your typical teenagers. Working for the parents in the comic book shop on the Boardwalk is just their cover.

The Frog Brothers fight for truth, justice, and the American way. They are vampire hunters and have long suspected that Santa Carla is full of the undead!

Befriended by Sam Emerson, the Frog Brothers take on the ultimate task of finding and destroying the head vampire that's terrorizing Santa Carla!

Meet Max

Played by Edward Herrmann

Max owns the local video store near the Boardwalk in Santa Carla. When he runs into Lucy he offers her a job, as well as a dinner date!

There seems to more than meets the eye when it comes to Max. He never comes in until it's dark, his dog Thorn attacks Lucy, and he's banned The Lost Boys from coming in his video store.

When their first two dates end badly, Max invites Lucy to dinner at his house. When she tells him something Sam told her, the couple race to Grandpa's house and find the aftermath of a fight between Lucy's sons, the Frog Brothers, and the Lost Boys.

Max apologizes for his boys' misbehavior. But really, Max just wants Lucy. He certainly hasn't changed his mind about that!
