Good Times

Performed by INXS & Jimmy Barnes

Everybody shake
Everybody groove
Everybody shake

Mary, Mary, you're on my mind
The folks are gone and the place'll be mine
Mary, Mary, wanna be with you

And this is what I'm gonna do
I'm gonna put a call to you
'Cause I feel good tonight
And everything's gonna be right, right, right

I'm gonna have a good time tonight
Rock and roll music gonna play all night
Come on, baby, it won't take long
Only take a minute just to sing my song

Boney Moroney's gonna be with him
I said, Long Tall Sally's gonna be with Slim
And Short Fat Fanny's gonna, she's gonna be there too

And this is what I'm gonna do
Well, I've got to put a call to you
'Cause I feel good tonight
And everything's gonna be right, right, right

I'm gonna have a good time tonight
Rock and roll music gonna play all night
Come on, baby, it won't take long
Only take a minute just to sing my song

Boney Moroney's gonna be with Jimmy
Long Tall Sally's gonna be with him
And Short Fat Fanny's gonna be there too

And this is what I'm gonna do
I've got to put the call to you
'Cause I feel good tonight
And everything's gonna be right, right, right

I'm gonna have a good time tonight
Rock and roll music gonna play all night
Come on, baby, it won't take long
Only take a minute just to sing my song

Lost In The Shadows (The Lost Boys)

Performed by Lou Gramm

Say hello to the night
Lost in the shadows
Say hello to the night
Lost in the loneliness
Say hello to the night
Lost in the shadows
No one knows

I can't wait, I can't wait, no
When I see little lights in the shadows
One must hide when the sun gets higher
I don't know what this madness means

Here comes the night
The bedroom in shadows
Candlelights
I don't know where it's coming from
But I, I keep moving on
Till the darkest thought makes me want to try these wings

Say hello to the night
Lost in the shadows
Say hello to the night
Lost in the loneliness
Say hello to the night
Lost in the shadows
No one knows

Loneliness pours over you
Emptiness can pull you through
Did you go to sleep with the light on?
I can't wait for this feeling to free me

Wind blows hard, but it doesn't matter
'Cause when the sun goes down
Nothing else matters
The line is where the night lies
I will wait outside her window tonight

Say hello to the night
Lost in the shadows
Say hello to the night
Lost in the loneliness
Say hello to the night
Lost in the shadows
No one knows

Loneliness pours over you
Emptiness can pull you through
Did you go to sleep with the light on?
I can't wait for this feeling to free me

Say hello to the night
Lost in the shadows
Say hello to the night
Lost in the loneliness
Say hello to the night
Lost in the shadows
No one knows

Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me

Performed by Roger Daltrey

I can't light no more of your darkness
All my pictures seem to fade to black and white
I'm growing tired and time stands still before me
Frozen here on the ladder of my life

Too late to stop myself from falling
I took a chance and changed your way of life
But you misread my meaning when I met you
Closed the door and left me blinded by the light

Don't let the sun go down on me
Although I search myself, it's always someone else I see
I'd just allow a fragment of your life to wander free
But losing everything is like the sun going down on me

I can't find the right romantic line
But see me once and see the way I feel
Don't discard me just because you think I mean you harm
But these cuts I have they need love to help them heal

Don't let the sun go down on me
Although I search myself, it's always someone else I see
I'd just allow a fragment of your life to wander free
But losing everything is like the sun going down on me

Laying Down The Law

Performed by INXS & Jimmy Barnes

I'm laying down the law
Showdown in the northland
Just the whiff of corruption
Is the tip of the iceberg

Savor and sweet liberty
And there's trouble from the south
Shouting from the gallery
Now I find I've got to shut it out

I'm searching for a light
To kill my sense of fear
To break through darkened nights
And take me through the years

There's no need to tell you
What I think has gone wrong
There's grey clouds of dissension
Let it show, let it show a silver lining

Sweet blood on the razor
Is it poetry or politics?
Forget about the nightmare
I'll make it a dream that changes everything

I'm searching for a light
To kill my sense of fear
To break through darkened nights
And take me through the years

Sweet blood on the razor
Is it poetry or politics?
Forget about the nightmare
I'll make it a dream that changes everything

I'm searching for a light
To kill my sense of fear
To break through darkened nights
And take me through the years

People Are Strange

Performed by Echo and the Bunnymen

People are strange when you're a stranger
Faces look ugly when you're alone
Women seem wicked when you're unwanted
Streets are uneven when you're down

When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain
When you're strange
No one remembers your name

People are strange when you're a stranger
Faces look ugly when you're alone
Women seem wicked when you're unwanted
Streets are uneven when you're down

When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain
When you're strange
No one remembers your name

People are strange when you're a stranger
Faces look ugly when you're alone
Women seem wicked when you're unwanted
Streets are uneven when you're down

When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain
When you're strange
No one remembers your name

About Echo and the Bunnymen

Echo & the Bunnymen are an English post-punk group, formed in Liverpool in 1978. Their original lineup consisted of Ian McCulloch, guitarist Will Sergeant and bass player Les Pattinson, supplemented by a drum machine assumed by many to be "Echo", though the band denies this. In the 1982 book Liverpool Explodes!, Will Sergeant explains in an interview:

"We had this mate [Smelly Elly] who kept suggesting all these names like The Daz Men or Glisserol and the Fan Extractors. Echo and the Bunnymen was one of them. I thought it was just as stupid as the rest."

The band's early cult status quickly turned into mainstream success in the mid-1980s, as they scored a UK Top 10 hit with "The Cutter", and their Porcupine (1983) album reached #2 (see 1983 in music). The next album, Ocean Rain (1984), again spawned hit singles to match their critical acclaim, and the band's success continued. The departure of frontman Ian McCulloch in 1988, followed by the death of their drummer Pete de Freitas the following year, culminated with a complete split in 1990.

In 1997, however, the Bunnymen returned with the UK Top 10 hit "Nothing Lasts Forever" (see 1997 in music), and both press and fans were delighted by their heroes' return. Since then, both their artistic and commercial successes have been in something of a decline, their original post-punk sound gradually being replaced by a more retro '60s sound. Echo and the Bunnymen continue to perform regularly.

Song Trivia

Originally recorded by the Doors, People Are Strange was released on their second album in 1967. The song was covered by Echo and the Bunnymen for the soundtrack.

In The Film: People Are Strange is heard during when the Emerson family arrive in Santa Carla. Scenes of the Boardwalk and towns folk are shown.

Cry Little Sister (Theme From The Lost Boys)

Performed by Gerard McMann

A last fire will rise behind those eyes
Black house will rock, blind boys don't lie
Immortal fear, that voice so clear
Through broken walls, that scream I hear

Cry, little sister - Thou shall not fall
Come to your brother - Thou shall not die
Unchain me, sister - Thou shall not fear
Love is with your brother - Thou shall not kill

Blue masquerade, strangers look on
When will they learn this loneliness?
Temptation heat beats like a drum
Deep in your veins, I will not lie

Little sister - Thou shall not fall
Come to your brother - Thou shall not die
Unchain me, sister - Thou shall not fear
Love is with your brother - Thou shall not kill

My Shangri-Las
I can't forget
Why you were mine
I need you now

Cry, little sister - Thou shall not fall
Come to your brother - Thou shall not die
Unchain me, sister - Thou shall not fear
Love is with your brother - Thou shall not kill

About Gerard McMahon

McMahon is also the founder member of the band G TOM MAC.

The most notable use is during Michael confronting Star in the cave after nearly attacking Sam and the during the return of the Lost Boys to the cave the next morning. It is also heard during the death scene of David, after he has been impaled on the oryx horns.

Power Play

Performed by Eddie and the Tide

They're out of order in war
They're out of order in love
They need to feed, they both agree
The hawk and the dove
But don't get mad, get even
And don't let 'em get to you
I never promised
It was fair and true
Before they're through
They'll have me hunting you (remember)

It's not important
It's just a power play

Good and evil
They're neck and neck
Bases loaded
And there's three on deck

We're in the final quarter
And it's running out
You needn't fight
Life has no time out

He'll lift you out of the cradle
Help you into the grave
But don't be fooled by all the rules
And don't be the slave
You take a chill pill, and, baby
Relax, float downstream
Life is no rehearsal
You know what I mean
And freedom seems
To be a far-off dream (remember)

It's not important
It's just a power play

Good and evil
They're neck and neck
Bases loaded
And there's three on deck
We're in the final quarter
And it's running out
You needn't fight
Life has no time out

I Still Believe

Performed by Tim Cappello

I been in a cave
For forty days
Only a spark
To light my way

I wanna give out
I wanna give in
This is our crime
This is our sin

But I still believe
I still believe
Through the pain
And through the grief

Through the lies
Through the storms
Through the cries
And through the wars

Oh, I still believe

Flat on my back
Out at sea
Hopin' these waves
Don't cover me

I'm turned and tossed
Upon the waves
When the darkness comes
I feel the grave

But I still believe
I still believe
Through the cold
And through the heat

Through the rain
And through the tears
Through the crowds
And through the cheers

Oh, I still believe

I'll march this road
I'll climb this hill
Upon my knees
If I have to

I'll take my place
Upon this stage
I'll wait till the end of time
For you like everybody else

I'm out on my own
Walkin' the streets
Look at the faces
That I meet

I feel like I
Like I wanna go home
What do I feel?
What do I know?

But I still believe
Yes, I still believe
Through the shame
And through the grief

Through the heartache
Through the tears
Through the waiting
Through the years

For people like us
In places like this
We need all the hope
That we can get

Oh, I still believe

Beauty Has Her Way

Performed by Mummy Calls

I know what you want
I know what you need
Better than you do
I know why you came
I promise you

I know where you go
I know what you do
Better than you do
When nothing remains
I come to you

Sometimes she shines, and I know
Beauty has her way
With her hooks and her grace
Beauty has her way
Lights down, we drown, and I know
Beauty has her way
This plain day
Beauty has her way

The trembling lengths
The conquering touch
Everything to you
And into your flame
I'll follow you

Where all wishes twist
And bitter they kiss
Everything to you
In doorways and dreams
I run to you

Sometimes she shines, and I know
Beauty has her way
With her hooks in your face
Beauty has her way
Lights down, we drown, and I know
Beauty has her way
This plain day
Beauty has her way

I know what you want
I know what you need
I know where you go
I know what you do

Sometimes she shines, and I know
Beauty has her way
This plain day
Beauty has her way

I know what you want
I know what you need
Better than you do
I know why you came
I promise you

About Thomas Newman

Thomas Montgomery Newman (born October 20, 1955 Los Angeles, California, USA) is an American Academy Award-nominated film score composer. He is a member of a film-scoring dynasty in Hollywood that includes his father Alfred Newman, his uncle Lionel Newman, his brother David Newman, and his cousins Joey Newman and Randy Newman (who is best known as a singer and songwriter).

Newman was educated at Yale University, and began his film-scoring career in 1984 with his score for Reckless. His breakthrough came in 1994, when he earned two Academy Award nominations for his scores to Little Women and The Shawshank Redemption; he was the only double-nominee that year. His critical and commercial success has continued in recent years with his scores for American Beauty (winner of the Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media), Road to Perdition, Finding Nemo, Lemony Snickets A Series of Unfortunate Events, Pay it Forward, The Good German and WALL-E.

Newman has composed music for television as well, including theme music for the series Boston Public and the miniseries Angels in America. His theme music for the television show Six Feet Under won two Grammy Awards in 2003, for Best Instrumental Composition as well as Best Instrumental Arrangement. Newman also wrote a commissioned concert work for orchestra, Reach Forth Our Hands, for the 1996 Cleveland Bicentennial.

At the 79th Academy Awards, Newman appeared in the opening segment by Errol Morris correcting a claim that he had been nominated for and not won an Academy Award eight times: "Ive lost seven times; tonight it will be eight."

Though they were not composed specifically for the film, seven of Newman's previous score compositions were included in Michael Moore's 2007 documentary, Sicko. Newman received a special thanks credit, in addition to seven individual song credits.

Below is a list of the following pieces also scored by Thomas Newman for the film:

Closing Time
Back to the Carnival
The Old Resort
Drinking Blood
Falling Home
Headlights
Bathtub Attack
The Wind
You Must Feed
Borrowing the Car
Dead Meat
Preparations
Awakening
They're Coming
Bow & Arrow

These tracks, as well as three other unused score pieces, are available on the Complete Original Soundtrack. Basically a collector's item, if you dig hard enough online you will come upon it.

Hearing the scores without the dialoge and atmospheric sounds of the film is truly a treat for any fan!
