Yeast Infections In It's Many Forms

The many types of yeast infections...

Candida albicans infection-or yeast infection can occur on various parts of the body. In this article we will highlight the different types and natural ways to treat them.

Skin Yeast Infection

A skin yeast infection can occur anywhere in the body where skin rubs on skin or where there is moisture, such as: under the breasts, under the arms (arm pits), the belly button or in skin folds just to name a few. Yeast infections of the skin can be prevented by wearing loose clothing and keeping the area dry, even using an antiperspirant in that area if excessive perspiration is a problem.

The rash will be red and swollen and have a well defined border. It will become itchy and you may notice a clear discharge. Scratching the area and then touching yourself elsewhere can cause a secondary infection so use caution when touching the area.

You can treat a yeast infection of the skin by applying either garlic oil or tea tree oil to the area twice daily for a week. You can also use Crystal Violet solution or Violet Gentian just once.

Diaper Rash in Babies or Adults

Diaper rash is another very common type of yeast infection that can be experienced by babies or adults who wear incontinence products. Though not serious, it can be recurring which can prove frustrating.

Preventing diaper rash is possible by keeping the area as dry as possible. Whenever possible; remove the diaper and expose the area to air. Also, make sure to change the diaper immediately after a bowel movement will also help to prevent infection. Using a cream such as lanolin or Vaseline as a barrier against feces and urine is also helpful.

Treating a diaper rash is easy. You can apply Garlic Oil each time you change a diaper or apply Tea Tree Oil twice daily. Avoid scented talc and creams as well.
