The Mediterranean Diet
What is the Mediterranean Diet and Why Is It So Popular?
The Mediterranean Diet was first scrutinized by the medical community when medical researchers noticed that those living in the Mediterranean were not only thinner than those living in neighboring countries and in the US, but that the Mediterranean residents had less heart disease and lived longer, healthier lives.
The incidents of diabetes, arthrosclerosis, alzheimer's disease, peptic ulcers, and high blood pressure are also less in those who relied on this diet.
The researchers results were nothing less than amazing.
Don't think of The Mediterranean Diet as a "DIET" but as a lifestyle.
Although dramatic weight loss is very evident when on The Mediterranean Diet, the diet stresses more the health benefits, than it does weight loss.
The Mediterranean Diet recipes are simple and easy to create and you will find that it is the most delicious meals that you have ever tasted.
Fresh, flavorful, and satisifying are just a few of the words to describe it.

Mediterranean diet 'extends life'
Eating a Mediterranean-style diet helps people to live longer, a new study has revealed.
The study of more than 300,000 men and women found those who followed a Mediterranean diet by eating lots of fresh fish, fruit, vegetables and whole grains lived longer.
American scientists used a nine-point scale at the start of the five-year trial to gauge participants' conformity to the Mediterranean diet.
Of the 380,296 people involved, 12,105 had died five years on, including 5,985 from cancer and 3,451 from cardiovascular disease.
Those with higher Mediterranean diet scores were shown to be less likely to die of any cause, or of cancer or heart disease. None of the participants had a previous history of chronic disease, according to the study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
The findings follow those of a major American study earlier this year which discovered that a diet rich in Mediterranean foods can halve the risk of developing serious lung disease.
Another study published in the journal Thorax in April suggested that children raised on Mediterranean foods were less likely to develop asthma and allergies.
The study conducted at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland used data from the National Institute of Health-AARP Diet and Health Study.
