This is the deal, you can do all the online marketing, optimization and promotion of your website that you want, but there are a few small changes that if done, will make all this much more effective. These few changes are known to increase the customer traffic to your site and help to get you higher up in the Search Engines.
The changes that I'm talking about can make all the difference between being successful online or not, it's that important. Plus you won't be wasting so much marketing money to get people to your site because your visibility will be higher from your website pages being more relevant.
Let's say going from position 158th, page 16, in a Google search, to page one on Google position 3 or 5 is not a bad thing.

Extensive Market and Keyword Research for Your Industry
The first thing is to get an extensive market and keyword research done, specifically for your industry. Among other things, what this gives me is the very best site structure keywords for each of your website's pages. If you don't have your site structured properly you can just forget it. What I've had for years is a very sophisticated piece of software which returns a lot of information on each keyword found, from over 182 search engines, all the big ecommerce sites like eBay or Amazon, the top competitor sites in your industry and most of the main article directories plus a number of other sources. For those familiar with research tools, no I'm not using Keyworddiscovery or Wordtracker. From all of this data I do a personal evaluation and pick the best keywords for your website structure to theme your site with. I coordinate with you on all of this as I go. I also include your input of industry specific keywords to make this even more successful.
Themed Website Pages
After my research is done I take that and rewrite your Titles and Descriptions for your website pages. If you're not aware of these, this is what the search engines display when they bring up one of your site's pages.
What I do is take advantage of the highest searched and least competitive relevant terms that people are searching for in your industry and blend or combine them in such a way as to theme that page with the rest of your website. Writing correct titles and descriptions is one of the most important keys in getting higher search engine positions and more traffic. Additionally I add the one or two theme keywords you are now going for on each page in the correct areas of that page's text or content so that it makes it more relevant.
This may appear or seem like a simple procedure but most do it wrong or not at all, in particular large SEO companies that usually charge a lot of money for their services.
