What is Theologos?
A seaside village, one and a half hour away from Athens, in the district of Malesina. Round its the seaside road taverns, restaurants, shops, cafes, hotels and night clubs are built.
In the village itself there are not many houses, as most of them belong to the settlement, which is spraed on the hills around the village.
Why bother writting about Theologos ( a place the vast majority of the readers of this lens have never heard before?)
REASON 1: because it is not as known as we want it to be
REASON 2: because my family ownes a house there, which means I've spent at Theologos lots of time
REASON 3: beacause it is a typical example of how's life in Greek province.
I keep reading this "thing" - curiosity killed, the cat - and cannot figure out what the photo has to do with all you have descibed above about Theologos?
Do not worry, I'll explain below- But let me, first of all, narrate the history of the place.
Does this place, actually, have a history?
As every other village in this world, Theologos has its own history. To my knowledge, the settlement, which has helped the local economy "blossom", was created in the mid 60s.
It was then when the junta (dictatorial government of Greece from 1967-1974), has decided to reward its "loyal children" ( those in the army) by offering free land. The hills of Theologos, on which a lovely pine forest can be found, had been bought by the state, divided into equal pieces of land and given to those who served Mother Greece.
These people, beeing mainly Athens inhabitants, have thanks to the "generous junta" become land propriators. Logically this land was distined to host their cottages.
From the latter answer one can assume, why Theologos, has become a summer resort. You can also understand how greek goverments try (and tragically their methods have not evolved much ever since) to freshen the deserted coutryside of Greece.
I ve gone through all the Theologos history stuff - is there anything left to know?
Of course, this was just the start! I' ll start naratting all the interesting stuff now
Well, I feel there cannot be anything interesting connected to this place - I can't even get why I am still reading this stuff !*&!!%
Ok, I won't keep you, readers of this lens, waiting any longer. Theologos has become today a place that for almost 2 months a year (July and August) is full of life. Actually it full of extraordinary situations and orgies!!
What s the composition on Theologos' population during its "high season"?

So are all these "tribes" disrupting the otherwise calm, provincial life of Theologos?

Live Your Myth in Theologos Greece
My cousin, Marialena , a fanatic lover of Theologos, on Pethamenos Beach ( Dead Man's Beach). Picture taken in August 2006.Pethamenos Beach, is not one of the three beaches belonging to the Stratigoi (Generals) complex of beaches. It is no more than a 25m long shore, covered with pebbles and sand. The waters, which are clystar clean, go literally "in and out", due to the tide of the Gulf of Evia ( the opposite island / 2nd largest island of Greece). As one steps into the waters of Petamenos beach, has to flight with his feet against sharp rocks and seaweed; but after you have crossed the first 7 meters, you will be rewarded for your courage with a basin covered with golden sand!

CHRISTOS If you happen to visit Theologos, it's almost ceratin you will bump into Christos. Either at the souvlatzidika or Crepomania, at Prive Club or at lying at a bench after 4-5 glasses of b-quality sambuca...but even when drunk Christos, is always willing to massage any lady!

MARIALENA Rumor has its that Marialena is a mascot of the Theologos Sin City
and it is not the only rumor that gets around...
Most probably you will find her at a night club (Prive, Tango) until 3-4 am , afterwards she'll be dancing at Next Club and making men treating her shots.
If you are at Theologos you will definitely notice her, either due to ther long, very looong, impressive legs, or due to the shiny smile she has while she performs her special chick(en)-dance!

PANOSPanos seems to have played an important role to the creation and evolution of most Theologos personalities. His charm has seduced Christina, which has been one of the women of his life, and due to that he got to know the Theologos party animal, Marialena. He has always helped to keep the balance between all the strange personalities, but in case he gets angry, you don't want to be there. Apart from shouting out loud and swearing, Panos may start kicking things, punching with his bare hand a wall or even hitting his head towards a wall! You see, he is such a good guy, that prefers to hurt himself rather than someone else...does this make him slightly paranoic?
No matter what the answer to that is, he is definitelly one of the most important Theologos Personalities!

THOMASThomas has over the years recruited dozen's of people to the Theologos fun club, like Batsos (Cop).He keeps one inviting people to Theologos Resort, as if he has been put in charge of promotion and advertisement of that place!
But apart from that one has to mention that usually Thomas, after consuming a big amount of souvlakia, spends his summer nights at Prive Club, drinking and dancing! There were times when Thomas left Prive Club to go and have a souvlaki and then came back. The reason is more than obvious...you never drink anything they reserve you at Theologos without having filled your stomach with a reasonable amount of fat, coz otherwise you will find yourself at a hospital due to the low quality alcohl drinks

MIHALIS - STEFANOS Mihalis & Stefanos are honorary members of the Theologos personalities category, as they are not permanent Theologos vacationers. More or less they owe their presence in this lens to women who have dragged them to the unique Theologos summer resort.
They caused great sensation during their short stay in summer 2006 in Theologos, as people confused them with Antonio Banderas (Mihalis) & Bruce Willis (Stefanos)...
IMPORTANT NOTE
Mihalis not only resembels to Antonio Banderas but also smells like him ...he is always wearing Diavolo

PANAGIOTISPanagiotis is the one pointed in by the arrows in the picture.
He was in Theologos way before the other Theologos Personalities got to know what Theologos resort is.
Maybe this makes him also a honorary member of Theologos Personalities category, like the ones mentioned above.
And as you can see by the pic...he was the one who managed to make the wild Marialena calm down- a bit!

DIMITRIS Dimitris is my brother and although he's much younger than all the rest, he deserves to be in Theologos Personalities group.
First of all, he was the one to indruce us to the "seaweed-throughing" game.
Secondly Mitsos is has managed all these years to break, at least once, everyone's nerves.

After been threatened, i had to post this picture of Dimitris, as is one that depicts fully his beauty!

she always remains loyal to the conqueror of her heart, Mihalis

BATSOSIn case you don't speak Greek, let me explain that Batsos isn't a name, but means Cop. Actually this personality of Theologos, has a name, Dimitris, but everyone is used to calling him Batsos. Batsos is actually a policeman, though he is not that fond of neither that nor his nickname. Anyway...
He doesn't have a house at Theologos, but for the past few years he spends his summer vacation there. Staying either at Panos' or Thomas' houses or at a hotel. When you meet him, everything on him will make an impression on you...the way he enters Prive Club, the way he approaches women, his yellow (!) two-seaater Mercedes or the fact that he never gets drunk.

EVAA pretty young lady, sister of Christos, which is not the only reason she is in these category of Theologos Personalities. You will find her in all nightclubs of Theologos - unless she has to study-, but you rarely see her on one of the resort's beaches.
In case you are wondering, who's the guy in the picture with her, the answer is easy;
her boyfriend, Alekos
They met wherelse...in Theologos and for the past few months you see them all the time together - whether that's good or bad, i can't tell...time will show!

How to get to Theologos

Athens-TheologosIf you have your own car, you should just ride it, head to the Athen-Lamia highway and after about one and a half hour a big blue sign with yellow capital letters, on which THEOLOGOS is inscribed, will appear... turn right and you are just a few kilometers away from this fantastic summer resort.
In case you do not have a car, and none of your friends, relatives, acquaintances or enemies, has a car,
you'll need 11 Euros ( are you a student? then just 7.5 Euros for you) and the courage to go to the KTEL bus station at Liossion Avenue (in Athens).

If you are in Theologos and want to return to Athens, go to the FOURNOS PAPPOU (pappou bakery). It is only there where you can issue a handwritten (by the baker's hands) KTEL ticket to Athens. Buy a croissant sabon-tyri and a bottle of Olympos chocolate milk ( Mihalis' favourite breakfast) and wait with patience outside the bakery...the bus will come, no matter what the dalay will be...!

This week an earthquake stroke our favourite summer resort THEOLOGOSThanks God the 4.5 Richter did not cause any casualties or destructions.

Theologos:it's not a normal place, it's a town of sinners. It's the place that the most incredible and surrealistic things could happen. The characters and the situations of this place are almost unnaturally true that you think that they came out of the mind of a pathetic psycho writer. Christos, the person with an unknown brain-system logic, it's the example of that fact. The way that he manages the situations of Theologos provokes even more complicated and weird ones. But Christos is not the only person that is like that. Marialena, one of the most important symbols of Theologos. You could call her a Nymph of Theologos, because she is the spirit of night, happiness and vitality of this strange place. A curious visitor can find her (mainly at night time) in a party full of people or, if he is lucky, he can find her at the famous Dead man's beach.
The mythological personalities of Thelogos are too many and there are various, strange connections between them. I don't have much space so I'll mention some more. Michalis and Aggeliki, very similar to Odysseus and Penelope, the hero that's trying to protect the reputation of his girl. Stefanos, like a hairy Satyr, pursuits his beautiful and joyful Nymph Isabella.
The only way to discover this magical place, is to visit it, if you dare of course!
