Freelance writers have it all. They work on their time, they love what they are doing (which is writing, of course) and they get paid for it. An online writing career is very tempting, indeed. You can even add fame and adoration in the mix. I noticed that this is one of the budding new careers we have now. They are not just freelance writers, they are wealthy word wielders in the worlwide web.
How to Get Started on Online Jobs
create an online resume. I did this at www.bestjobs.ph and at VA4U.com. Just place your resume, what type of job you are looking for and the skills you have.
create a blog. I already have an existing blog but for those who don't have one, get one. Make a personal blog and later on, create other blogs that have a specific niche.
practice writing and rewriting. Write about anything and everything. Check out how other bloggers present their ideas and copy them. Later on, you will definitely find your own style of writing and a unique way of doing it. I also applied for any writing gigs at www.craigslist.com just to hone my writing and grammar skills.
After a few weeks, there would be emails arriving, asking if I would be interested to work for them and all. It pays to be honest with what you really know and to be reasonable when negotiating for how much to charge when you are asked to write or rewrite an article. This is usually based on how many words per article.
Currently I am employed and I am blessed that my employers are considerate and nice. I do hope you will find what I found and land that perfect online job for you.
I work from home
I'm a single parent who loves to write. I usually write at dawn or basically during times when my daughter is asleep. I love to write fiction, poems and anything that interests me as a mom.
My daily routine
I do the usual thing, wake up, eat breakfast, do household chores and go online. I love watching dvds, playing with my dogs (I have two) and when I do find extra time, play my guitar and write songs.
My tips for keeping a good work-life balance from home
1. Think happy thoughts.
2. Learn to appreciate nature.
3. Never take things for granted (work, family, friends)
4. Find time for yourself.
5. Pray.
