Learn how to balance your pH and your health
In today's world of Lifeless food and drink, the lunchable food like substances that are being used in the place of real food, we need to make better informed decisions about what we put into our bodies. Read on and see what the leading pH experts are saying.*The glass of the fish bowl represents our skin that holds our body parts inside and keeps the fluids inside.
*The water in the fish bowl represents the water inside our bodies.
*The fish in the bowl represent our cells - All 70 trillion of them.
** Acidosis = dirty fish bowl water **
The body as a whole is about 76% water
The blood is about 94% water
The brain is about 98% water
The internal cell structure is about
98% water
What is pH?
pH is the measurement of how acidic or alkaline your body is. Or pH = Potential for Health. Scientifically speaking, pH means "Potential of Hydrogen". Hydrogen ions are denoted by H+ and the more hydrogen ions you have in your body or fish bowl, the more acidic you are.
pH is the measurement of voltage. Potential of hydrogen tells us if electrons are available.
pH can be tested by using pH test strips. The strips have an associated numeric or color scale that gives you your current pH reading.
The pH Scale - on the left side of the scale is 0 (highly acidic) - with 7 in the middle - and 14 (highly alkaline) on the right side. Either 0 or 14 mean death.

How does pH play a roll in your Fish Bowl?
Let's investigate...
Factors that Alter Your pH
Air and Substances We Breathe (Lungs)
Foods We Eat (Mouth)
Topically Applied Substances (Skin)
Attitude/Emotions (Mental Health)
These are the four major factors that impact your pH in a positive (alkaline) or negative (acidic) way. Without taking daily responsibility for the quality of your "fish bowl water", acidosis will eventually prevail. Gone unchecked, the standard American lifestyle, (poor dietary habits, polluted air, lack of exercise, hours spent watching TV and computer, etc.) further contributes to this problem. This state of imbalance opens the door for sickness and disease.
Acidifying Influences to Your Body
Simply stated, chronic over-acidity will interrupt all cellular activities and functions%u2026to interfere with life itself!
Air and Substances We Breathe. Household cleaners, industrial toxins (smog), out-gassing from carpets and paint, perfumes, hairsprays, aerosols, car exhaust, cigarette smoke (1st and 2nd hand smoke are equally acidifying), and more%u2026.
Key Example: You mop your floors with toxic substances and then the water evaporates leaving a concentrated film for you to walk on or your kids or pets to play on. This residue is absorbed through feet and/or skin.
Foods We Eat. Packaged and overly processed foods, canola oil, hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated fats and/or oils, excessive protein consumption (high protein/"low carb" diets), soda pop (even natural sodas), chronic over-the-counter and prescription drug use, refined sugar and much more. These are all electron stealers which means they leave you electron deficient, i.e. acidic. In addition, foods containing aspartame, msg, or mercury are all neuro-toxins. AVOID ACIDIFYING FOODS! Eating acidifying foods creates an acidic environment which is a breeding ground for micro-toxins. These living organisms steal your nutrients and create resulting acidic toxins overloading your body's ability to neutralize them. Without a balanced pH your minerals will become ineffective and your digestive system cannot absorb the nutrients as well.
Key Example: all soda pop has a pH of 2.5 to 3.2. For every 8 oz. of soda pop you drink, you would need to drink one gallon of alkalizing water (8-9 pH) to counteract the acidity of soda pop!!
Topically Applied Substances. Personal care items including shampoo, conditioners, hairspray, deodorant, toothpaste, lotion, mouthwash, lubricants, tampons, cosmetics, most sunscreens and more are typically chemically laden. Here's a quote from Dr. Judi Gerstung: "I can't encourage you enough to become supercritical of the ingredient list on all personal and household care products. It's time to eliminate the following as much as possible: phthalates; sodium laurel/laureth sulfates (SLS); benzenes; silicones; polyethylene glycol (PG); formaldehyde-forming compounds; parabens; artificial colors; synthetic fragrances; mineral oil; isopropyl alcohol; sodium hydroxide; and synthetic moisturizers. These chemicals are found in a multitude of our commonplace, everyday products and we seldom give a thought to their cumulative effect on both our skin and our internal organ systems. Many of these are coating our skin cells to the point that they are oxygen and nutrient deprived, not to mention that many are known carcinogens."
Key Example: a nicotine patch is used to deliver nicotine into the system in a short period of time. Likewise, any substances placed on your skin are also absorbed.
Attitude and Emotions. Acidic conditions can be a result of: anxiety, anger, fear, jealousy, stress, un-healthy relationships, negative or poor attitudes, actual danger, fear of victimization, depression and more. Experts recommend that you limit your exposure to negativity and fear. Every emotion has a chemical reaction. You might notice how your body feels when you see these things.
Key Example: Turn on the TV and see security alerts, terrorism updates, murders, child abuse, violence, etc. which produce negative feelings which in turn contribute to acidity in your body.
Alkalizing Influences for Your Body
Balancing your pH is a major step towards well-being and greater health.
Air and Substances We Breathe. Pure air via air purification systems; environmentally friendly, chemical free products including paint, carpet, and household cleaners, yard care and many more.
Foods We Eat. Eat fresh, raw and/or organic foods that are pesticide, chemical and GMO free and that are as close to nature as possible; drink pure clean water; and take a holistic wellness approach to your medicine cabinet through the use of organic herbs, spices, essential oils and homeopathic remedies.
Topically Applied Substances. Search for items that are organic, non-synthetic, plant based, and as free of chemicals as possible. Refer to the Dr. Judi Gerstung quote in the last section.
Attitude and Emotions. Things like gratitude, kindness, love, meditation, prayer, yoga, tai chi, walking, fresh air, sufficient sleep, sunshine, healthy relationships and passion will go towards creating a balanced pH. Also, relax and breathe deeply. What are the things that make you feel good? Did you used to play the guitar? Go dancing? Go for a drive in the country? Schedule a time in your life to do fun things! read more
