Therapy Swings
Therapy Swings are used for kids with special needs. Children with Sensory Integration issues, ADHD, and Autism all benefit from daily movement and stimulation. Although each kid is different, occupational therapists often use various kinds of swings and swinging techniques to help kids regulate their bodies. Swinging therapy helps kids focus and increases a child's body awareness. Kids love these swings because they're just plain fun!
Indoor/Outdoor Platform Swing
Great for Outdoors Too!
The round platform swing is a unique seated swinging device that is manually controllable by the user. It is designed to stimulate the user's cerebral cortex through ample stimulation provided by the swinging motion. In plain english, kids will have a blast swinging on this unit. The swing can be easily hung on any thick hook that has been secured into wood, metal, or cement and holds up to 200 lbs.Size: 26"
Ages: 3+
Net Swing at SensoryEdge
The Net Swing is our most popular swing. I think parents love to hang out with their kids in this swing and pretend it's a hammock. The Net Swing envelops a child's whole body as they swing back and forth. It not only stimulates the vestibular system, it also provides ample proprioception (pressure to the joints) so it is calming and comforting for kids who seek pressure.
The unique qualities of this therapy swing allow the net to stretch to fit any child. It can be used in a prone (lying down) or sitting position. It cradles a child so they feel safe and secure and it gives them total body support.
Material: Poly/Nylon
The Net Swing supports up to 175 pounds
We suggest using a hard mount for children over 75 lbs.
Platform Swing
An innovative swing used in occupational therapy
Platform swings are excellent tools that help children with Sensory Integration Dysfunction. They can help regulate a child's vestibular system and give them the daily input they need to stay calm. This swing helps to vary the type of movement by using it either standing, sitting, or lying on their back or stomach. This is a great way to increase body awareness and give proprioception as well.
