Collecting Coin, Science Fiction books and Meteorites

I love to collect many different things. Collecting Coins and Minerals and Meteorites are my current fads.

I would like to give you some tips when shopping for rare and unique coins, books or cards or antiques.

The are two reasons for collecting coins, books, etc.

Reason one: It's a hobby and it gives you pleasure to work on your collection.

Reason two: Collecting can be an investment with very good return on your money if you do some basic research and follow a few buying guides.

I have been collecting and selling Rare items for over 20 years. So learn from my good investments and how to avoid a deal that is too good to be true.

Basic shopping rules and excellent reasons why to buy coins.

Collecting and giving Rare gifts (Coins and Tokens).

Coin collecting can be a great investment and a pleasure. The price of collectable coins always goes up.
The higher the grade of coin the bigger the increase will be. High grade coins become more rare as some are lost or destroyed. More collecters starting also drives up the price of limited coins.

But you can also start a low budget collection that may take years to become something valuable. This is a collection for the joy of collecting and looking through your pocket change.

Also a coin made of silver or gold will also increase based on the value of the precious metals. Gold and Silver have also gone up and are great investments.

My niece had a baby girl this year. I gave her a mint set for 2006 for Naveh to put away. By the time she grows up and starts earning money there will be no more coins or paper money. This is a memory of her birth year and maybe a valuable rare gift in the future.

Shopping for Rare Gifts for the Science Lover.

How about Meteorites, Minerals, Fossils or maybe raw amber.

I love science, space and nature. Sometimes someone will mention a meteorite and wonder what they look like. Most people are very wrong in how they envision a meteorite and are surprised when I dig out a shoebox full of meteorites.

Everything from common Tektites to several fist sized iron meteorites and plastic bags with less than a gram of dust and a big price tag.

Tektites come from debris that was knocked off the moon by a meteor impact in the past. These are the most common meteor. They look like dark black glass (the moon soil has melted)and generally come in the shape and size of your finger. These will cost $7.50 to $15.00 depending on weight.

A iron meteorite about fist sized and you are looking at spending $500.00 and the bigger the sample the harder they are to find.

I have iron rain drops that where formed as an iron meteorite melted falling to earth. Small round drops about the size of a stick pin head were formed.

You can drop by my store, http://www.theraregiftstore.com to look at different meteorites
or shop at ebay or just go look at pictures.

Do some basic research on google. Look up the meteor name and type so you know what a correct sample should look like.
