Thesis Theme- Review of a Premium WordPress Theme
Thesis Theme for wordpress is a premium theme with some really cool features. Unlike other over hyped premium themes that leave a lot to be desired, Thesis delivers on its promises. These are just a few of the reasons that I purchased the Thesis theme for my blogs and my client's blogs.

- Design Options: Although I can hack my way through customizing wordpress themes, if a theme is equipped with a paint by numbers system for making cosmetic changes, I am ALL for it. You can change the look of your blog by literally just clicking a few buttons.
- Plugin Features Without The Plugins: Are you tired of using plugins that slow down your blog or worse, break it? The creators of the Thesis Theme have worked hard to incorporate important features without requiring the use of additional plugins. Customize your navbar, add Google analytics and manage thumbnails all without the use of plugins.
- SEO Options:Thesis allows you to add keywords, descriptions, meta tags, title tags and images to each post and page. This attention to SEO detail, combined with killer content will help you climb the search engine ladder. Increase your chances of being on the first page of Google by utilizing these SEO features.

Changing The Look Of Your Blog
No PHP Knowledge Required
One of the most important things you want to do when you start blogging is to make sure that your blog stands out from the crowd. Thesis Theme enables you to create a different look by providing you with simple click and change dashboard:
- Layout: In addition to being able to choose a 1, 2, or 3 column look, you can also change the width of each column.
- Fonts & Font Sizes: This clever tool lets you change the font size and font type for the body, nav menu, header, headlines, bylines, code, multimedia box, sidebars and footer. No more digging through lines of code to make these changes. It's all done in one spot.
- Teasers: This is one of my favorite options within Thesis Theme. Adding teasers to your blog gives you that magazine look. You can control how many teasers you display, what information will be displayed and the font sizes.
- Multimedia Box: The multimedia box sits right above your sidebars. You can fill it up with photos, a video or any other custom code. All you have to do is include the link to the video or photos and viola, you're done.
- Feature Box: This is another one of my favorite features. You have the choice of placing this box above your content and sidebars, above your header or above your content column. It's a great tool to showcase an optin box, ads or affiliate recommendations. The sky's the limit.
These are just some of the cool features that Thesis Theme designers have included in the design options. You don't have to be a PHP guru to make some modifications and change the look of your blog. Customizing your blog has never been easier.

Here Are My Pet Peeves
As with everything in life, there will be things that you like and don't like. When the good out ways the bad, the bad becomes something I can deal with. In an effort to be completely honest and show you all the sides of Thesis, I will touch on the few things I don't care for.
So, there aren't a lot of things that I dislike about Thesis Theme but I would be doing a disservice if I didn't point these things out. I think it would be really cool if the creators added a cheat sheet for some common hacks that us non-techies can use. I should also point out that their customer service is excellent. If you have a question, they are more than happy to help. The Thesis website is also filled with useful information on how to push Thesis to it's limits. There is also a forum (that you get access to after you purchase the theme) where you can interact with more experienced Thesis users.
- Developer's License: If you're a blog designer or website designer who utilizes wordpress & you'd like to add Thesis Theme in your line-up of themes, be prepared to shell out an additional $40 per site that does not belong to you. I don't really understand the logic behind this. Most wordpress theme creators just charge one price for a developer's license. You can, however, include the license fee into your design cost.
- Framework: Because the creators of Thesis Theme have made things easy to modify, if you want to make additional changes (that are not included in the thesis/design options area) you have to do a little more work. There are two files that you work with in order to change colors, move the navbar & customize the feature box. The good news is that there is a wonderful community of thesis users who share their hacks. A few that I have used (I suggest you bookmark these links) are: Keener Living, How To Make My Blog and Matt Flies. With the use of these simple hacks I was able to get just the right look for my blog.

You Can Have It All
As someone who uses WordPress for most internet projects, I am constantly on the lookout for new themes to experiment with. I'm like a kid in the candy store when I find new free or premium WordPress themes. I like themes with a clean, modern look that blend the blog and magazine style in an efficient manner. In addition the code should be clean and easy to navigate. I'm not a css or php guru so I have to be able to hack my way through customizing a theme.
Every month I download between 5-10 themes that I like. I set them up on my blogs and see how they hold up to the wear and tear. If I find that they are just too difficult to work with and the support is not great, I move on. The premium themes that I do purchase MUST be worth the money.
