SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate) is a chemical degreaser and surfactant which is used to clean engines and other heavy machinery. It is not surprising then that this chemical strips the skin of natural oils, leaving it dry, tight and flaky. The only purpose SLS serves in the soap industry is to create a rich lather. Soap does not need to lather in order to clean however...
No two loaves are the same, they will smell the same and function the same, but they will nearly always look slightly different- this is due to the handmade factor and the creativity of The Soap Dragon!!
Bathbombs, Bubblebars & ButterBombs...
Bathbombs... aah, now these are special. Run a warm bath, slide in, and release the bomb into the water- and relax as it fizzes around you... BUT are they any better than good old bath foam? YES!!! They soften the water, have NO artificial surfactants and smell fantastic! Depending on which one you choose, you can have flowers, natural butters, extra salts, and even glitter.
Bubblebars... As you run your bath, crumble a third, a half or a decadent whole bubbebar under the running water, then as you light the candles the bubbles come along. Again, this product does not contain SLS, but SLSA which is a much milder, gentler addition.
ButterBombs- Buy one. NOW. You will never want to use anything other than a ButterBomb, and you will regret never having disovered one before. PACKED with natural Oils and Cocoa Butter, this will transform an ordinary bath into something truly luxurious. Don't take The Soap Dragons word for it either... Run a warm bath and pop one (or two if you are feeling especially extravagant) under the warm running water. Made all the better with Candles and a chilled glass of something cheeky!
Dead Sea Bath Salts & Marine Salt Body Scrubs...

The Soapy Cauldron came into being on April 6th, 2006 after spending 18 months looking for affordable products for my son. He has terribly sensitive skin, is prone to excema and general dry patches and irritation. BUT he has the most beautiful pale red hair, milky white skin and the cutest smattering of freckles across his nose!
I had product after product shoved at me by my Doctor and well-meaning friends, but the truth is I felt uncomfortable putting chemicals on broken and irritated skin, even if they were meant to be gentle. Then a friend told me about Oatmeal. Wonderous stuff! The morning after his first Oatmeal bath, my sons skin was soft and his dry patches reduced by half. After a week the only dry patches were behind his ears and on his elbows!
I did further research into natural skincare and was shocked to see the prices of some 'Natural' products, so I thought 'I'll make my own'. And here they are!
