the-swell-closet on ebay

Greetings! I sell fabulous clothing (as well as books, movies and CDs) under the ebay username the-swell-closet. My ebay store is called captivating clothing and more. I have just discovered squidoo, so please bear (bare?) with me while I attempt to crawl into the 21st century.

Besides showing off my items, though, I intend to use this lens to offer some tips and resources to new ebay clothing sellers. (Man, did I ever need help when I first started.) So I hope you will enjoy checking out my selling tips, fashion thoughts, and ebay items on squidoo!

Q: What is one thing that successful online clothing sellers agree on?

A: Provide the measurements of the item you're selling in the listing!

Seriously, stating just the size on a pair of jeans is not sufficient, particularly for womens clothing, where sizing between brands is literally running amok. A size 6 in one brand could be like a 2 in another, and vice versa. And if you don't give the measurements, you're just going to get emails from potential buyers asking for them. Either that, or they will skip over your auction altogether. So please... be sure to include as many of the following measurements as possible: length, pants inseam, waist, front rise, hips, shoulder to shoulder distance, sleeve, and bust.

There are lots of useful tips on how to properly measure clothes right here.

Fashionable Feature Flicks

Have you seen these cool cinematic trendsetters?

From iconic little black dresses to garish wide lapel suits, the following films all helped to define the best, worst, and wackiest fashions of their respective eras.

Some are obvious (Breakfast at Tiffany's). Some are outlandish (Mahogany). All are loads of fashionable fun. I've also included Stranger Than Paradise, the ultimate anti-fashion film, because you just know that the main characters get their clothes from either the Salvation Army or dumpsters, and that is just so, you know, cool.

This is my cat. She likes to wear party hats. I don't know how much more of myself I am really willing to reveal at this point in time.
