The Tea Party
The Tea Party was a Canadian rock band with blues, progressive rock, Indian and Middle Eastern influences dubbed "Moroccan roll" by the media. They sound like Jim Morrison singing for Led Zeppelin in their most exotic Middle Eastern moments.
Active throughout the 1990s and half of the 2000s The Tea Party released eight albums on EMI Music Canada, selling 1.6 million records worldwide and achieving a #1 Canadian single "Heaven Coming down" in 1999. Their career together ended abruptly in 2005 due to creative differences.
Jeff Martin grew up in Windsor, Ontario, just across the Detroit River from the home of proto-punk and the Motown sound; he was also influenced by his blues-loving father. He formed the Tea Party with multi-instrumentalists Stuart Chatwood (bass, keyboards, mandolin and harmonium) and Jeff Burrows (drums, percussion). Martin himself plays guitars, sitar, hurdy gurdy and harpguitar. Consequently, the trio's sound marries rock with elements of Middle Eastern, Celtic and Mediterranean music. Their 1993 album, Splendor Solis, sold over one million copies in Canada; The Edges of Twilight followed, trailed in 1997 by Transmission.
Save Me Video
Save Me Lyrics
I must go off to war my dear, the kings await me
I will go so far away.
I will always love you, but you knew.
I regret to tell you, your man has died tonight.
He was a brave man, he fought a brave fight.
He was killed by the other side.
He was killed by the other men's knives.
She said save me
Save me
Why must you love this man, he is your brother?
This is easy to understand, my son, there is no other.
I cannot pretend to love this man Like my father.
I cannot pretend, mother, there is no other.
She said save me
Save me
When there is no truth, let's end this lie tonight.
This is easy to understand, without your best fight.
But I see a new sun rising in the east
But I see a new sun rising in the east
She said save me
Save YOU!

Walking Wounded Lyrics
And erase all that's been
And all that's been between
Is it gone tell me what went wrong
'cause baby I'm not that strong
And I'm walking wounded
All alone, all alone
Are you comfortable and numb
Did they all succumb to all those lies
Does it satisfy the greed
Is it all you need
Is it all you want
'cause baby I'm not that strong
And I'm walking wounded
All alone
And baby I'm not that strong
And I'm walking wounded a
All alone, all alone
How does it feel
How does it feel
How does it feel
How does it feel
If your memories do stray
Then they betray all that's past
And all that's been between
Is it gone tell me what went wrong
'cause baby I'm not that strong
And I'm walking wounded
All alone,
And baby I'm not that strong
And I'm walking wounded
All allone, alll alone
How does it feel
How does it feel
How does it feel
How does it feel
How does it feel
How does it feel
How does it feel
How does it feel

I kinda got carried away creating Squidvids lenses, but heck, I really enjoy music. Although I am older (not quite an offical senior though), I seem to still enjoy more youthful music. I dunno, maybe it keeps me young. Friends who know me...
