The Tick is an admittedly odd superhero parody. He looks like a guy in a blue spandex suit and he's nigh invulnerable. He's also kind of slow and goofy, but has an overblown sense of civic duty and drama, which often results in peculiar remarks and quasi-inspirational speaches. His battle cry is "Spoon!"

Created by Ben Edlund in 1986, The Tick has appeared as a New England Comics series, an animated TV show on Fox Kids' (1994-1996) and a live-action TV series on Fox (2001-2002) starring Patrick Warbuton.

The animated series is also currently being aired in reruns on Toon Disney and the Family Channel.
