Do you believe that there is only one religion?

I have been asking that question for so many years. I have been to many churches, heard so many sermons and joined a lot of Christian groups, but i haven't found the answer through those religious sects.

As a child growing up in a Christian family, i have been brought up to have Christian values. I joined our churches activities and i am quite active in our youth gatherings. But our family moves a lot. We don't usually stay in one place long enough for me to be close at church.

The schools i went to are also of different religious sectors. As a child, that really confused me. I was born a baptist. My mom is baptist my dad is catholic. As i was growing up, i asked myself, what is the true religion? So, then i began exploring different churches and studied their ways.

I found out that every church has different teachings. Not everything is necessarily true in all of their teachings, but there are some right points. Like every church believes in one true God.

Now, as i am older and more mature. I have come to realize, religion is really not important. What is in your heart, your doings and your beliefs is more important. Religion, can't save us. If we believe that is one true savior and we accept him. We ask his forgiveness, follow his commandments. That is more important.

Jesus Christ our savior has come to earth to redeem us for all of our sins. All we need to do is accept him as our Lord and savior, and ask for his forgiveness... He is the way, the truth and the life...

God Provides...

I have been through some tough times lately. My husband had a heart attack and everything followed with it. Still my faith in the Lord is not diminished and it is still intact. My family have struggled for a few months. My husband was out of work and there are bills to pay. God answered our prayer and my husband got his pension approved. He is a retired US navy. I am so happy, God answers prayers and he will never forsake us.

Truth is absolute because it comes from God. Love is meaningful the way Jesus practiced it. None of us can understand truth or love unless we are part of the Elect. God makes the FIRST MOVE through the Holy Spirit in a fallen human's life because God has determined beforehand who He will call His Children. At the touch of the Holy Spirit upon the heart of stone, it is made a heart of understanding, the person is "regenerated" and made ABLE to SEE the Kingdom (able to understand). This when presented with Absolute truth of the Gospel to an Elect Individual, will result in an Understanding they have eternal life, that they are a NEW CREATION in Christ. If this is foolishness to you, then you are not one of the Elect. The reason we are commanded to go into every country and teach the Gospel of Christ, is because we do not know who the Elect are, They dont know theyre elect either. Until the regeneration occurs. Result is Baptism in Obedience as a symbol or testimony of the newness of life

Kris, well said. Christianity is Jesus reaching out to us. It is a growing relationship, not a set of rules.

Excellent. You've learned a very spiritually mature thing: God's grace through Christ is a free gift, and that true religion is to take care of those less fortunate than ourselves and who are suffering, "and to keep oneself unstained by the world." God bless you on your journey, and rejoice!!!
