There are so many Webkinz Toys it can be pretty difficult to choose. There are the regular-sized Webkinz (8 ½ inches tall) and the smaller version Lil' Kinz (6 ½ inches tall). You can have the traditional house pets like dogs, cats, rabbits. But even here you have several choices, too. If you have your eye on a particular Webkinz Toy, better get it fast because some of these Webkinz Toys retire, meaning they'll be off the shelf for good.

No, they don't have kings or courts but animals rule this virtual world. You're Webkinz stuff toy doesn't have to be all by its lonely self and only you playing with it.The beauty of this game is in the interaction with other Webkinz pets. You can add more pets and interact with the Webkinz pets of your friends.There are a lot of choices for this interaction.




There's a tournament arena where contests and games can be played, you can send gifts or trade items, and you can even chat.Considering the age group, though, the makers of the Webkinz World were extra careful to not allow messages to be personalized; there are certain words you can click on for your Webkinz pet to talk with another Webkinz pet.

As mentioned earlier, you have to take good care of your Webkinz pet just as you would a real pet in the real world. But its not an easy task.

Your Webkinz pet will not only crave for your attention, it will also need you to take good care of it. You need to have money to buy your Webkinz pet its food and you need to earn that cash, called here the KinzCash.

But don't worry; there are several ways you can earn KinzCash like playing games, participating in polls, adopting a pet, etc.
The more KinzCash you have, the more things you can buy for your virtual pet, things such as furniture for its room, clothes, great-tasting food from secret recipes - the possibilities are almost overwhelming.

There have been some concerns about kids playing too much on the Webkinz World. Admittedly, Webkinz Toys has all the recipes for getting addicted. But parents now are more tolerant of the time kids spend in playing Webkinz. Why? Because its not only fun, it's a great tool for learning too.

First and foremost, it teaches kids about responsibility. They are responsible for their pets and there is no Pause or Stop buttons they can push. They have to check in on their pets daily, see that it gets the nourishment it needs, keep it healthy at least. Then they have to keep it happy, take some time out for play, and give their pets the occasional treat.

Webkinz Pets and Webkinz World also teach kids financial responsibility and management. KinzCash does not come in unlimited supply. As mentioned earlier, it has to be earned. It also has to be spent wisely. If you want to redecorate your pet's room, you need to know how much it'll cost and how much you need to save for it or if it's even a priority right now.

There are also other areas where learning has been made enjoyable - like answering trivia questions or learning through the interaction with other pets. Other features like making your videos or cooking up the secret recipes encourage the artist or cook in you.

Webkinz is not a perfect world, although you certainly can try to make it one for your Webkinz pet or pets. But like any software, it suffers technical glitches and could sometimes crash because of the volume of users (1 million and counting!) who log on at any time of the day.

Some parents are also not as convinced that it's good and safe for their kids. But it does take control and guidance from the parents for the Webkinz World to be a safe haven for their kids. What's more, it can become a family thing, where mom, dad, and the kids can spend some quality time and have fun together.

The Webkinz Toys success has been phenomenal. Kids and adults alike are clamoring to buy the latest Webkinz Plush. This brings to mind the virtual pet and virtual world of earlier generations - anybody remember Tamagochi and SIMS? They were fads that faded with time.
