Practicing Napoleon Hill's Philosophy To Become A Millionaire

The Napoleon Hill philosophy has received many modern day re-evaluations.

Much has been added to it in the last forty years, since the human potential movement began in the 1960's.

Most recently, "The Secret", "The Shift" and "What The Bleep Do We Know" has added to the enormity of the subject.

The Law of Attraction. although controversial after the rise in popularity of "The Secret," certainly was hinted at time and time again in Napoleon Hill's original work.

Are business people closet manifestors? Business people believe universally that a goal must be focused on day after day at all costs.

Yet Divine Purpose is often missing in normal business activities.

But when we connect to divinity, we become more efficient manifestors. At the same time, in the process of aligning to a higher power, the
physical body opens to the flow of this faster, higher frequency.

The area between the throat and lower stomach is where a person can learn to feel and heed the the messages of his or her body.

For instance, if you are in tune with your purpose here on Planet Earth, you will feel an opening up, a sense of joy. If you feel constriction in this area of the body, you are out of alignment.

The truth of who you are is in a state of imbalance.

This area between your throat and lower stomach is where you listen and feel your internal guidance system.

You may have a Big Vision for your life. But the little desires along the way, such as the impulse to call someone, to write a letter or an
email, to write an article, to compose or play a song, are steps along the way leading to the Big Vision of your life.

You may think you know what you want, but Divinity may have different plans.

Listen to your body, your internal guidance system. Stay with the desires that speak to the feeling of an opening up within your body.

Stay with what you want in each moment, whether it's to experience more patience, compassion or more joy.

As a student of Napoleon Hill, with a Napoleon Hill forum and lens, I keep attuned to the Napoleon Hill principles which were channeled to Hill by a divine source.

Since the publication of Hill's book, "Think and Grow Rich", whole empires exist because of these principles.

Since reading "Think and Grow Rich", I wanted to be apart of a Master Mind group.

But this opportunity was not available anywhere in my life.

My friends in the nursing or teaching fields don't necessarily partake in the entrepreneurial vision. They are content to complain about the realities of the workplace and feel powerless to change some of the idiocies we all confront.

But nurses love their patients, and teachers, their students. Often we stay stuck because of this love we have for our charges.

My adventures as an Internet Marketer has elevated my vision. My first e-book and web-page is laying the foundation for my success in building my own Portable Empire.

I joined Pat O'Bryan's Portable Empire University prior to the launching of his book: Your Portable Empire: How To Make Money Anywhere Doing What You Love.

Soon after, Pat O'Bryan created Your Portable Empire Island over at Second Life, with the original intention of promoting his book.

Portable Empire Island has been a powerful experience for those of us who visit regularly.

For instance, we meet people we already knew from the University Forum at the island, and in the 3-D setting of Second Life where our little avatars communicate with everyone else's little avatar, these relationships are deepening.

Last night, we spontaneously formed a Master Mind group for Internet Marketers specifically to gain clarity on the projects we already have in our minds or have already started.

Napoleon Hill describes a Master Mind as: When two or more people meet, an unseen power is also present to lead and guide the group to further inspiration and insight.

Each person in the group comes to the meeting with a specific question or challenge and puts these before the group. Then each person decides what he/she will accomplish towards his/her goal by the time the group meets again.

For instance, if my challenge is an unfinished sales letter that needs to be written before I can write my e-book, then the group may offer suggestions for the major headline and body of the sales letter.

My goal may then be to have the sales letter written by the time of the next meeting.

Each Master Mind member in turn describes her/his challenge, and each member contributes her insight and intuition as to how to remedy the challenge or problem.

The unseen forces influence the minds of everyone there.

The Master Mind IS the power of the unseen, operating as creativity, flow and the higher acquisition of enlightened manifestation of all that is possible to achieve in this life time.

What you may think is impossible to achieve at point A of the journey suddenly becomes real.

I am new to the Master Mind game, but because I asked the Universe to provide me with the perfect group, I believe the perfect group appeared.

Pat O'Bryan was there when this Master Mind was born.

He was on the phone with Bill Hibler when I mentioned to the group that I was reading Bill's (and Joe Vitale's) book: "Meet and Grow Rich." The book is about the way to form a Master Mind group.

Synchronicity, master minds and destiny---all the components for the perfect hair raising, goose bumping, AHA moment--at the Meeting Of The Minds.

If you desire to have a good night's sleep, then follow through with
that guiding impulse.

As you experience many small successes, celebrate each of these. You may have
hundreds of small successes in any given day.

In order to realize the Big Goal, follow through with the small desires,
keeping track of the synchronicities that arise from these.

In the end, it's not about achieving your goals, it's about experiencing the
emotion of completion, love and satisfaction that arise from the everyday joys.

It's all about the journey, not the destination.

Enjoy the life you are living. Experience every sensation. Take the
opportunity to feel, sense, taste, hear and see.

Your only job is to stay open from moment to moment.

The Big Dream may take years to manifest, but because you are having so much fun
along the way, time becomes inconsequential.

Happiness in the Now is the one great achievement.

Grasping for a goal lays the foundation for fear, doubt and lack. Write down
the goal and visualize it but release the worry, want and fear.

Be happy now in order to facilitate your fondest dream.

Be your own personal joy.

Follow the next desire that opens you to the joy of living. Ask Divinity,

Live your life purpose NOW.

This is the life you were meant to live.

The true test of these principles is to lose everything you ever had, and to rebuild again, using the Napoleon Hill's ideas.

Did anyone ever do it?

The wolf is a symbol of adversity, yet is disguised as such. In reality, the wolf is a powerful symbol for overcoming adversity. As we do so, we come to discover that adversity is just another word, an assumption, a belief system. When challenges strike, we persist our way through them. We have faith that we will find our footing, and tread tenderly through the maze.

We know that by loving ourselves, opportunities arise to guide us to success. We know that by practicing principles outlined here in this lens, we cannot fail.

We put forth the intention and the vision of what we want, but do not come to expect that what shows up is going to fit into a tidy mold.

Sometimes Life is messy, and in order to reap the benefits, we get dirty too.

This is the way of the Journey.

The Carnegie Secret

The "Carnegie Secret" is a concept that Napoleon Hill studied extensively.
Carnegie told Hill that the formula for success was so powerful that if learning
how to apply it was taught to students, the time they needed to spend in formal
schooling could be cut in half.

This formula, Carnegie repeated, was used by all the leading businessmen
and inventors of the late 19th and early 20th century.

Carnegie asked Hill to go out and confirm the application of the formula
by the 500 richest Americans (and others).

Hill in his introduction to Think and Grow Rich refers to the "formula"
as a conception which is the foundation of all success, and necessary to
achieve the premise of the book. Hill describes the secret in every
chapter but never states it plainly, believing its use is only available
to those who possess a 'readiness' for the secret: a disposition Hill
states as essential to the concept itself.

Hill spends a great deal of time in Think and Grow Rich discussing the
life of inventor Thomas Edison, whose personal belief in the practical
electric light is now legend; it is stated in the book that the great
inventor personally put his stamp of approval on the formula as being
necessary for the attainment of all achievement, including riches.

However, personal belief alone is not enough for success, requiring
"The Secret" of achievement for that all important next step.

One of the basic premises of the 'Carnegie Secret' or 'Carnegie Formula'
is that whatever your mind focuses on will attract like-minded people
to you. As one element necessary for Achievement, it can also lead
to failure when internal focus is so strong that like-mindedness
cannot be achieved; examples are all around us, and Hill pointed them
out repeatedly in his writings.

Hill talked at length about the major importance of DESIRE in the
lives of successful people to help achieve focus.

Hill's proposition was that if you have a desire that is great enough,
literally nothing can stop you from achieving your aim(s) through the
power of like-minded attraction; but only as long as this desire does
not have selfishness as a component.

He offered six steps to 'fuel' desire so that it will become the
'motivating master' of those who use the formula. Riches are what Hill's
teachings promise the reader; these riches can be in the form of money
or any other result aimed for, if the person applying the formula
uses focus and desire properly.

students the paradox that "Thoughts Are Things." In fact, the subtitle
of the introduction chapter of "Think and Grow Rich" is "The Man Who
'Thought' His Way."

The ability of people to share thoughts underpins achievement, and Hill
stated that this allows the success-oriented individuals to attract
like-minded people in order to accomplish anything.

Most of the examples in Think and Grow Rich concern the great
difficulty of creating and maintaining like-mindedness, and Hill
termed this concept "The Master Mind". Hill's numerous examples of
racism, prejudice, war, poverty, discouragement, and fear illustrated
the significant barriers that existed in his time (and still exist today)
as the road-blocks to Achievement through the coordination of
like-minded individuals.

Hill stated many times in his writings that the success formula
required a complete and total understanding of the spirit ofgiving. He named this concept "The Golden Rule". Many times he was quoted as saying "There is no such thing as something for nothing".

Hill was a devout Christian, and did not see any conflict between his success philosophy and his religious faith.

Acquiring the Carnegie Secret of Achievement, Hill said after his own books were in wide circulation, could only be had by those "ready"
for it; this meant understanding the entire Philosophy including elements such as the Golden Rule, Faith, and Desire. Once ready, anyone could go on to acquire great wealth as it required only application of the formula.

The Creation of the United States of America

Hill never directly provided a written definition of the secret of Achievement, for he was adamant it would deprive people of the ability to learn it for themselves.

Hill's belief was that the US Constitution was one of the finest living examples of the Philosophy of Achievement in existence, and the same
power was available to all; to which there is no doubt just as much disbelief in our times as in Hill's.

And yet the Constitution does exist, making Hill's claim all the more tantalizing that such a power is available to the average person; this claim alone is mainly responsible for the millions of copies of his books in circulation.

There is no hard-copy record of the Carnegie Secret in existence, beyond Carnegie's own stupendous fortune which still exists today as
the Carnegie Foundation. Carnegie's wealth was so great in his time that its share of the US Gross National Product was far in excess of
today's largest fortunes, rivaling the USA so much that is was once thought Carnegie could become "an Emperor in Washington".

And yet, Carnegie achieved this wealth as an individual, and not completely without controversy; but as a historical fact it is indisputable that one man was responsible.

On this basis, Carnegie's secret formula is considered by some to be a long lost secret, awaiting rediscovery.

The award winning BBC director, Martin Dunkerton, set out to put Hill's famous principles to work, and shows everyone how to do the
same in the Blockbuster, "Millionaire: Awaken Your Secret." This movie is currently being remade.

The success secrets can be applied by all.

After I came home from my online business building "bootcamp", I decided I would put these principles to the test.

Think and Grow Rich! is a classic motivational book. Written by
Napoleon Hill and inspired by Andrew Carnegie, it was published
in 1937 at the end of the Great Depression.

Examine yourself carefully as you read the follwing list of alibis--and remember, the philosophy presented in TGR makes everyone of these obsolete:

1) if I didn't have a wife (husband) and family...
2) if I only had enough pull...
3) if I only had enough money...
4) if I only had enough education...
5) if I could only get the job...
6) if I only felt better...
7) if I only had the time...
8) if times were better...
9) if only other people understood me...
10) if only the conditions around me were different...
11) if only I could live my life over again...
12) if only I didn't fear what "they" will say...
13) if only I were younger
14) if I had been given a chance...
15) if only other people didn't have it in for me...
16) if only I had been born rich...
17) if I could only meet the right people...
18) if I had the talent that other people have...
19) if I could get an inheritance...
20) if only I were born rich...

And there are many, many more--

These all point to limiting beliefs and the resistance we have to rising above them. They also point to deeply rooted habits of thinking that people often refuse to give up.

They see these alibis as truth, as opposed to erroneous perception.

These alibis are all obsolete because those of us in possesstion of these 13 principles hold the Master Key (to riches). There is no penalty for using the Key, but there is a price you must pay if you do not use it.

Plato said: "The first and best victory is to conquer self. To be conquered by self is, of all things, the most shameful and vile."

So play and relax and in-joy, but above all else, permit no alibis!

Persistence

Napoleon Hill devoted an entire chapter in Think and Grow Rich to persistence. In that chapter he said, "there may be no heroic connotation to the word persistence, but the character is to the quality of man what carbon is to steel."

Hill also pointed out in another part of the same chapter, that the only thing which separated Thomas Edison or Henry Ford from the rest of the people in the world was persistence. For both of these great men had an image and they would not let anyone or anything dissuade them - they were persistent. One illuminated the world; the other put the world on wheels. Both were, of course, richly rewarded.

FAITH is the "external elixer" which gives life, power and action to the impulse of thought!

When persistence brings us up to resistance and cessation of movement towards the goal we seek, FAITH then allows the mind to calm down and relax, and Patience can til the soils for the future manifestation of a beloved dream.
