All About This Providence
This Providence is an indie rock/pop punk band from Seattle; the band currently consists of four members and formed back in 2003. To date two studio albums have been recorded and released and a third is set to hit the shelves in 2009. The band plays a fluent energetic brand of indie and always the lyrical content of the tracks has an excellent Christian twinge. The band was originally known under the name of Sunday Best, in 2004 debut album 'Our Worlds Divorce' was released however under the new name of This Providence. The band's debut effort was given its official release through Rocketstar Recordings and was produced by Casey Bates. It was not until 2006 that the band would release its second album and this time their music would be released by the Fueled By Ramen record label.
The band's second album is the self-titled 'This Providence' twelve track release; a fine album of music and one which comes complete with many top tracks. Once more the band had managed to put to record an exquisitely fine album of music and again the sound created here is just absolutely exceptional. It's a fine second album from the band, a great way for them to have furthered their career and one which I'm sure all four members of the band are incredibly proud to have created.
On October 14th 2008 the band is all set to unleash 'The Bright Lights EP' upon the world, the band's third studio album will then follow in 2009 and the future currently looks to be incredibly bright for This Providence. This is one incredibly talented band; there's a lot of lyrical depth to the music and instrumentally also these are highly talented musicians. Vocally I just can't fault the band either and as the release date of the third studio album draws ever closer I have to say that I'm getting incredibly excited about hearing what the band has to offer this time round. I'm sure that the album will not disappoint and am confident in fact that once more the music will be exceptional.

'This Providence' is the super second studio album from the band of the same name. It was released in 2006 and consists of a grand total of 12 tracks. For those that love their indie rock/pop punk then this is most definitely an album you really ought to listen to; it combines the two genres fantastically well and never for a second here is there ever a dull moment. Every track on the album is excellent and not once does the music of This Providence disappoint.
I'm a huge fan of the Fueled By Ramen record label that the album was released through and 'This Providence' is certainly not an album that disappoints. It's everything you could possibly wish for in a FBR release and more. It truly is excellent and provides for such an exciting overall listening experience. The music is incredibly upbeat and the band's Christian views are always incredibly positively framed and an absolute joy to hear. I'm by no means a Christian, I love the band's lyrics though and the flow with which the lyrics are put across here is always an absolute joy to behold.
The band progresses powerfully from track to track, each joined solidly and never is the music anything short of sensational. The music is highly impressive and This Providence is just such a talented band; you can tell that the band has given it's all here and this is something that really does shine through strongly in the music.
From first track 'A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing' right through to closing number 'The Pursuit of Happiness: The 2nd Movement' the music is always absolutely magnificent here; from start to finish never does the music cease to amaze here and I'm sure that all those that listen to this album will be incredibly impressed. If you're a fan of either indie rock or pop punk (or even better: both genres) then most definitely give this 'This Providence' album a listen; you'll surely not regret it.
