Hayden and 5 other surfers from Australia and the United States paddled out in the Japanese sea to get close to a dolphin pod on October 31, 2007. The attempt was made to try and release the dolphins there from fishers/hunters, however, this was not possible and after about ten minutes, Panettiere and friends had to flee to avoid being collected by the authorities on charges of trespassing.

For this attempt, Hayden was awarded the "Compassion In Action Award" in November 2007 from the group "PETA" (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals).

1. Hayden has her head on right (well, as Heroes Character, Claire Bennet, maybe not all the time, but...j/k). She hasn't succumbed to the influences and pressures of stardom like many young actresses that keep getting splashed in the media

(Do me a favour, readers - if this DOES happen in a few years with Hayden...don't buy the tabloids, okay? I think that 'consumers' make it so much worse for people to regain their life when they've choosen careers that put them in the public eye...you wouldn't want the world to know all your struggles would you?)

2. Hayden has a CD coming out in 2008, so I can't wait to hear it!

This is a great movie about racial differences, with Denzel Washington as a coach of a high school football team from a primarily 'black' population. When the other high school with primarily 'white' students is integrated, coach Boone (Washington) and the other high school coach, Bill Yoast (actor, Will Patton) have to settle their differences in order to best serve the high school football team.

Hayden Panettiere plays Sheryl Yoast, Coach Yoast's daughter.

Along with getting their natural competitiveness under control, when Boone is made Head Coach and Yoast is demoted to assistant coach, the men also have to deal with personal racial differences and THEN, turn attention to the racial differences of the players and the town they live in.

The movie is said to be based on true events...

.....so you know what that means?
