one of my heros

mr Dolby has been at it for a while. he has been an inspiration to electronic musicians (and otherwise) everywhere. sure that Blinded By Science song was overplayed but the real treat is digging into the rest of his work! my personal favorite album by him is The Flat Earth, it is quite wonderful. this lens should give you more to go on to get to know THOMAS DOLBY --

1. i snuck past i.d. check at a club in montreal in the 80's (the flat earth tour) i was 13 years old. i paid my ticket and saw the most fantastic live show ever. there were giant spectacles (glasses) with a video screen for each lens-- his videos played along to what was happening on stage! i had a blast. i didn't need a drink to be totally transfixed. also his backup players switched instruments from song to song.

2. he blends electronics, jazz and rock into something of his own

3, he was a pioneer in the world of music video (europa and the pirate twins comes to mind) and later in the software world!
