Three Tips You Should Know Before you Buy A Medieval Costume

Deciding what kind of medieval costume to dress up before an event is a daunting task. Not only do you have to look stand out, you have to make sure that you look good and dress appropriately for the event. After all, who wants to look as if they came from the wrong era?

Dressing up for the medieval ages would never seem to be a problem. Personally, the medieval age is amongst the few historic periods where one can fully express individuality and expression, partnered with imagination. From pirates to mages, and from princesses in distress to wicked witches, there's always something for you.

And choosing your costume won't even be a problem! We've prepared three important things you have to remember to make sure you look your best.

What's the theme?

If the event's theme is general in nature, i.e. medieval, you won't be having any problems. You can dress up whatever you want to wear as long as you look 'medieval'. The problem is when the event has a more specific theme such as pirates or fairies. If so, your best option would be to read more about characters that fall under such themes and make a list out of them. That way, it would be easier for you to choose what character you would be going for.

What's the occasion?

Before you even go buying your own clothes, check out the invitation card to know what kind of even you're going to. Whether it be a wedding, a bachelor's party, or a medieval festival, you want to make sure that your costume does not only look good but is appropriate as well.

What's your budget?

Last but not least is your budget. While dressing up is fun and rewarding, the experience must not cost you more than a few (hundred) dollars. Otherwise, you're just overspending. Knowing how much your willing to spend on a costume or for the event all-in-all will save you from spending more than you're actually planning or even willing to!

Make a list of what you intend to buy for each costume set and go for the one that makes you look good, you're comfortable, and is cheap! Remember that the only way to make the most out of a celebration is to look good and feel good without burning your pockets!
