Three Lions

The title "Three Lions" comes from the emblem worn on the shirts of the England football team, which features three lions.

This was originally inspired by the Coat of Arms of Great Britain

I've always been approached to write football songs but have declined as I thought Three Lions could never be beaten.

I am counting down the days until the start of the World Cup.

Prior to writing the Lyrics for Three Lions, Frank Skinner and David Baddiel shared their love of football through their TV Series Fantasy Football League, which aired in the UK between 1994 and 1996.

They then aired some "specials" during the 1998 World Cup and the 2004 European Championships.
