Three's Company

Three's Company, a tremendously popular yet critically panned sitcom about a young man living with two young women, aired on the American Broadcasting Company from 1977-84. Though later considered tame television, Three's Company pushed the envelope in the late 1970s, opening the door for sillier and sexier comedies that would soon follow.

Three's Company is an American sitcom that aired from 1977 to 1984 on ABC. It is a remake of the British sitcom Man About the House. The story centers on three roommates in Santa Monica, California: Janet Wood, Chrissy Snow, and Jack Tripper, and their efforts to convince their landlord that Tripper is gay so he will approve of the co-ed living situation.

Jack, Janet and Chrissy lived in apartment 201, directly above the landlord unit in Santa Monica. Jack is studying to be a chef at a technical college and, as the girls do not know how to cook, they decide it would be a good idea for Jack to move in. Three's Company Trivia

Trivia courtesy IMBd

During the earlier seasons' opening credits, the brunette walking by the beach that causes Jack to fall off his bike is Suzanne Somers in a wig.

Billy Crystal auditioned for the role of Jack Tripper.

John Ritter is the only cast member to appear in every episode.

The final episode of the series didn't air until the beginning of the 1984-1985 season when it served as the lead in to its spin-off Three's a Crowd (1984).

Janet and Chrissy had another roommate named Eleanor before Jack moved in.

Chrissy's full name is "Christmas Noelle Snow".

Although Jenilee Harrison was well liked by her co-workers, her inexperience and a drop in ratings led to them searching for yet another person to fill the third roommate position.

Any time Norman Fell said an especially funny or witty line, he would look directly into the camera as he laughed.

In the final episode of the series, Jack moved from the apartment to one above his restaurant to live with his girlfriend Vicki (as seen in the spin-off Three's a Crowd (1984), Janet got married and left to live with her husband Phillip and Teri took a nursing job in Hawaii.

Quotes from the show's actors

Three's Company was originally called Three Companies, about a trio of pharmaceutical companies. It was 10 times funnier."-John Ritter

"I loved John Ritter. He was like playing ping-pong with a great player, he'd just bang the ball and you better be fast to get it."-Suzanne Somers

"John Ritter was all about not taking life too seriously. This is a great loss, John was a joy in our world.-Joyce DeWitt

Hi, Nice lens. Three's was on the "banned" list for me when I was a kid, so I had to wait until going to my grandma's to watch it. Thanks for sharing.
