Who Is Thrivingmom And What Has She Been Up To?
Who is Thrivingmom? I started off this lensography thinking "this will be easy" but I quickly found that when you try to answer the question of "who am I" it starts off very simple and then gets super complicated. But I will try and do my best to try and give you an idea of who thrivingmom is, the woman behind the netbook.
First, let me introduce myself. Hi, I'm Wendy. I'm a wife. My husband and I married in 1998. We did a lot of traveling, dating, and goofing off during the first 8 years of our marriage before finally having kids, and I'm so glad that we did.
I'm a teacher. I'm the first person in my entire family to graduate from college, and I'm very proud of that accomplishment. I completed school on a combination of pail grants, student loans, and a lot of hard work. I graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology. Two years later I earned a Texas State Teacher Certification in Secondary English.
I'm a stay at home mom. I have two toddlers and a baby that keep me super busy. The first two are only 20 months apart and the second and third are also only 20 months apart, which can be a super challenge. I have been pregnant or breastfeeding or both for more than five years now!
Before I was a mom, I worked for Children's Protective Services. That was by far the most difficult job I've ever had. It's heart breaking and stressful. After CPS, I taught Sophomore English. I have a strong interest in the well being of today's youth. I believe that it takes a village to raise a child and that if one child falls through the cracks of our society, then we have failed at our job as citizens.
On a lighter note, I'm also an e-preneur. I've learned a lot about making money online and love to share what I've learned. It's great to be a full time mom and still earn monthly paychecks from my online ventures!
Well, that's a very brief overview of who thrivingmom is. You will probably get to know me better by reading my lenses. They are little glimpses into what interests me and what I've learned through the years.

Why "Thrivingmom"
How'd I come up with that name anyway?
When I first became a mom, I was at home all day long alone with this precious little baby. Now, a seasoned mother of two, it is almost comical to think about how scared I was when I was a new mom. I read a lot of books and did a lot of research on the internet about everything I could that had to do with babies. I was so concerned that I would do something wrong and mess her up for life!As I read book after book and discovered mommy blogs and message boards, I kept seeing the phrase "surviving motherhood." I thought that was a terrible way to look at the blessing of being a mom...as something to survive. I started to settle into my roll as mother and got into a daily rhythm. That's when I thought to myself that I'm not a surviving mom, I'm a thriving mom!
I use that name on all of the forums, social networks, and other various sites I belong to. So, if you see me on another site some where, be sure to say hello.

My Baby Lenses
I've been stuck in baby mode for years.

Having three babies back to back means I've been stuck in baby mode for years! That picture up above is what my home looks like most days. I chose the name thrivingmom when I was the proud mommy of a baby girl. Two surprise pregnancies later, I feel more like frazzled mom than thrivingmom. But I do know things will get easier once I get out of baby mode.
Since my world revolves around babies and toddlers, I tend to write a lot of baby and toddler lenses.

I Love Cooking
And I'm pretty darn good at it too ;)
I've been cooking since I was 6 years old. I won my first state fair blue ribbon for baking when I was 7 years old. My husband, a runner and self professed fitness nut, gained 35 lbs the first year we were married and he blames my cooking!
I've recently started working on building up a cooking niche. I'm writing cooking lenses, I've taken over the Squidoo Chefmasters, and am working on my new blog The Recipe Drawer.

- Lol...I just thought that today I would skim throughout my favorite lensmaster's lenses and to see what lies in the upper - middle - and lower rankings. Surprisingly the quality is just as good in their lower rankings as the upper. I wish you the most wonderful blessings in 2012.

- Congratulations on your 100 club. I am almost there. Very excited. I like all your suggestions above. In no time you will have 200. I suggest making a few niche/subject lenographies. That way you can do some more lensrolling with your own lens and other lensmasters too.
Good work with this one.
