Thundarr the Barbarian Cartoon
The Thundarr the Barbarian cartoon series began airing on the ABC network on Saturday Mornings in the year 1980. Thundarr the Barbarian is an adventure animation that unfolded on an Earth that had been demolished when a comet passed between the planet and its moon.
The world that emerges after this cataclysm is very different. There are new creatures inhabiting the Earth. There are also new mystical powers acquired by some of the humans. Some of these humans meld the magic with science, and take advantage of the normal population. These beings are known as Wizards.
Emerging from enslavement, Thundarr the Barbarian commits his existence to fighting these wizards and protecting the powerless.

Thundarr the Barbarian Characters
ThundarrBorn into captivity, Thundarr escaped Wizard tyranny with the help of his newly found Sun Sword. He has pledged his life to the defense of the helpless humans who are victims of the evil wizard plague that has swept the earth. Thundarr is brave, loyal and very direct - he jumps into the fray of battle without a second thought.
ArielShe is the stepdaughter of the dark wizard Sabien. Through time spent in his library, Ariel learned the ways of magic as well as the history of Earth. She helped Thundarr escape captivity and now joins him on his heroic adventures.
Ookla the MokA member of the Mok species, Ookla possesses incredible strength. Though he speaks in grunts and howls, Thundarr and Ariel seem to understand him completely. Ookla befriended Thundarr during their enslavement and the two have fought evil together ever since.
