Yet approximately half of these roles are left uncredited- including his role as the vocalist for "You're A Mean One" from How The Grinch Stole Christmas (the animated version), and several he is only credited as being part of The Mellomen.

In addition to all of these roles, he sang back up to popular artists such as Johnny Mann and Rosemary Clooney, as well as being the lead of a short lived band called Big John & The Vultures.

In addition to his roles in Disney films such as Mary Poppins, and The Aristocats, he played part in many of the recordings for Disneyland and Walt Disney World attractions such as Fritz in The Enchanted Tiki Room, vocals for Grim Grinning Ghosts in the Haunted Mansion(s), and is the voice of Buff the buffalo head in The Country Bear Jamboree.
