- I knew in order to get better it was going to be some pain. I wanted to get better from surgery to remove a goiter that I put off for nearly ten years, finally September I had the surgery, I'm a little sore, It didn't effect my vocal cords, I rest sometimes but the most I can report is the feeling of a paper cut on the inside, a feeling that my voice is louder in the morning and during the day it drops a little, discomfort when I try to lay down in my former sleep position and having to prop pillows and sleep sitting on my back, but that lemon in my neck is gone and I believe I look better so the surgery was a good thing. Good luck to anyone having surgery on their thyroid, have it and enjoy a better quality of like, Thanks

- Hi JoJo318: I'm not a medical doctor and do not profess to give medical advice. However, in my case, I take a thyroid supplement (and have for years) and have experienced no weight gain or acid reflux issues. Hope this helps!
