What Are The 5 Tibetan Rites?
It takes about ten minutes a day to perform the exercises - approximately 2 minutes for each of the 5 different routines.
The good part is that it's a lot cheaper than Botox or even anti wrinkle things like Hydroderm.
Actor Martin Sheen uses these ancient Tibetan Rituals to maintain his youthful looks, even though he's old enough to be a pensioner.
When you start with these rituals, you won't actually do very many of each one. This is to give your body a chance to acclimatize to the new things you're doing to it. Over a period of two to three weeks, you slowly build up your routines. During this time, you should notice positive changes in your body and find yourself starting to look younger.
The 5 Tibetan Rites are as follows. None of them are complicated, honest, but if in any doubt please consult your doctor first.
1. Twirling
Literally spinning round (clockwise) with your arms outstretched. Start with 2 or 3 twirls a day, gradually increasing until you reach 21 twirls per daily session.
2. Rite Number 2
Lie down on your back on a firm surface. Lift your legs as far into the air as you can whilst breathing in. Remember to keep your legs straight. Lift your head up at the same time. Then slowly breath out and let your legs and head go back to the floor. Do this the same number of times as the first exercise.
3. Rite Number 3
Use a carpet for this one. This involves bending your head and neck forward and then backwards, arching your back on the backward part of the exercise.
4. Rite Number 4
I found this one took me a bit of practice as it involves turning your body into a "table" with your arms and legs as the legs of the table and the main trunk of your body as the table itself.
5. Rite Number 5
Again, this one took me a bit of practice - you're turning your body into an inverted 'V' shape for this exercise.

Are There Just Five Tibetan Rites?
Most books on the 5 Tibetan Rites actually also talk about a sixth "secret" rite or ritual. This is simple to perform but the reason that it's left out of the main set of 5 Tibetan rites is that it shouldn't be undertaken initially.
Instead, you need to build up to it with the other Tibetan five rites first.
For this reason, I won't go into it here (as I haven't gone into full detail on the other routines), but you need to make sure that any book you buy on the 5 Tibetan Rites also includes details of this sixth exercise.
What Do You Want From The 5 Tibetan Rites?
The Other Secret - A Healthy Diet
One of the things we take for granted and pay little, if any, attention to is our diet.
Our ancestors ate foods when they were in season. They ate "close to the ground", meaning that most of the food they ate was local. Only precious foodstuffs like spices traveled the world to the tables of our ancestors. As recently as Medieval times, salt was so precious that it was reserved for the upper classes - peasants sat "below the salt".
But our modern regime demands that everything is available all year round. Many of us have forgotten what should be seasonably available. Fruit and vegetable varieties are chosen by growers because of how much they yield and how well they stay in condition for weeks or months under controlled storage.
Changing your diet to a more healthy one will enhance the other effects of using these
5 Tibetan Rites.
Your body will appreciate the small changes that are suggested. So will your taste buds.

Legend has it that hidden in the remote reaches of the Himalayan mountains lies a secret that would have saved Ponce de Leon from years of fruitless searching. There, generations of Tibetan monks have passed down a series of exercises with mystical, age-reversing properties. Known as the Tibetan Rites of Rejuvenation or the Five Rites, these once-secret exercises are now available to Westerners in Ancient Secret of the Fountain Of Youth.

The Rites are said to be a form of Tibetan yoga similar to the more well-known yoga series that originated in India.Yoga Journal: The Tang of Tibet However, the Five Rites and traditional Tibetan yoga both emphasize "a continuous sequence of movement" (Sanskrit: vinyasa), whereas Indian forms focus on "static positions". Although the Rites have circulated amongst yogis for decades, skeptics say that Tibetans have never recognized them as being authentic Tibetan practices.
