"The Passion For Golf And The Passion For Family Have Got To Be Balanced"

Tiger Woods - The Family Man

My Family Takes Precedent

Tiger Woods and his wife, Elin, were "thrilled" to welcome the newest addition to their family - son Charlie Axel Woods.

"We both want to thank everyone for their sincere best wishes and kind thoughts."

Charlie is the second child for the couple, who also have a daughter, Sam Alexis, who was born in June 2007.

"Sam is very excited to be a big sister and we feel truly blessed to have such a wonderful family," Tiger added. "We look forward to introducing Charlie to you all as he grows and at the appropriate times."

Tiger, 33, didn't play in a pro golf tournament since undergoing knee surgery in June 2008. While he returned for the prestigious Masters, he did not manage to make the cut, He then went on to win the Buick Invitational. Tiger noted last month that his career hinges largely on his family.

"That takes precedent over anything I do golf-wise," he said.
