The newest addition to the 3000 series is the FoodSaver V3880. Like its predecessors, it has a vertical orientation to save space on the kitchen countertop. The stainless steel finish blends nicely with any other appliances you already have. It also has fully automatic operation, which means you just put the bag in place and the automatic vacuum sealing begins. There's no lid to hold down.
The Food Saver 3880 has the standard features like the built-in roll holder and cutter, retractable accessory hose, and the moist and dry sealing settings. (Like other models, the sealer works best when the bag is dry.) It works great with the new Foodsaver Portion pouches.

The 3880 has a Pulse function as well as a Gentle speed for sealing delicate items like bread and baked goods without crushing them.

The Seal-A-Meal VS230 is a cheap vacuum sealer for under $100, so it would be considered the budget brand.
