About Tim "The Dragon" Chin

Brief bio and juicy tidbits

Born on November 20, 1981 in Richland, WA, Tim is currently a PhD candidate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the department of Materials Science. He picked up his nickname, "The Dragon," at his first professional tournament in 2006 because his cue stick of choice was a McDermott Dragon Cue.

When he started playing 8-ball and 9-ball in 2003, he wasn't too good at sinking the balls. So, he figured, if he could set the balls up right, he'd never miss! And thus, Tim took up trick shots and turned pro in 2006. He is currently sponsored by Crown Cues.

Tim's not too big on polluting so he doesn't own a car. Instead, he prefers to travel by bicycle, a green Novara Big Buzz.

Also, Tim is a huge DC United fan. That's soccer. Probably one of the few people in Boston not rabid for the Red Sox. He's currently working on a small collection of DC United gear.

Tim is featured in The Tech

MIT's newspaper writes a feature story on Tim! Has an awesome photo, too.

New Commercial Released!

Tim was the trick shot consultant in this commercial for Kewpie Half, a mayonnaise popular in Japan. The star of this commercial is Masaharu Fukuyama. The shot in the commercial is a backwards, slow-motion extension of Any Questions? Check it out!

Translation (by EY): 1/2 the calories. But, I wonder how's the taste? Surely, you love half. Kewpie half.
