To error is human, to forget is salvation
Allow yourself to be transported back into a fictionalised version of Ancient Egypt, where real magic, gods, and even the dead seem to control the fate of man. To a place where mankind is still divided into three breeds. These breeds are the Silkoneons, Odraians, and Standing. Each as unique, and self reliant as they are intricately connected to the other two. And in the end the fate of all three rests in the hands of one very small determined group, and ultimately everything lies in the hands of one singular individual looking for peace, and redemption.

nothing will ever be the same again...
In a time where there is fear, and suspicion among the breeds, there is also curiosity. So when Simute Lutoni (Silkoneon), and Yoam Ana-Her (Standing) meet, an unlikely friendship forms between them, that slowly extends back to en-capture those who know them best. Including Yoam's older half brother Tao Karinal, who is torment both by his father's suicide, and his parents' deception. And the enchanting Lillyannu Ashmar, who chooses her duty to her people over her own heart, cursing all those who would love her to share in her misery.
However when both breeds fall to the mercy of a common enemy, who attempts the complete enslavement of one in order to wage war against the other, their last stand is a terminally dangerous measure.
But can one selfish sacrifice really change the fate of man?

The nine year old Tao Karinal was almost skipping down the corridors towards his father's office. He'd been sent by his mother to fetch the Pharaoh's Chief Sorcerer, and beloved brother in-law, Simonus Karinal. Tao's father. The man he admired more than anyone.
Reaching the door to the office, he stopped for a brief moment, swinging his arms in a sweeping manner before him, trying to compose himself into a frame of mind his father would tolerate. Taking a deep breath, and puffing his chest out slightly, he gave a loud tap on the office door, before entering.
The sight that met him, however, chilled his body to the very core. A scream rested in the sickening pit of his stomach, as he saw the smile, and heard the tightening chord of the rope.
His memory ran like the slow dripping of the blood. His vision blurred like the swaying of a hung body. Everything was gone.
'Big brother, where's father,' an infantile voice sounded near to him.
He could feel something cold pressed behind his back. He knew he was crouched
down somewhere. Somewhere that wasn't his father's office. But where he was, or how he got there, he didn't know.
All he could see was the swaying. All he could hear was the slow drip of blood.
'Tao, Tao, Tao,' the voice sounded again. 'Where's father? Why didn't you get father? Tao? Tao? Tao? Tao? Ta...'
Was it him that screamed, or her? He didn't know. That was the one detail he could never remember.
Someone screamed. Someone screamed so loudly that everything else became a blur. Someone screamed. Someone screamed, because his father was dead. Someone screamed, because his father had killed himself.
Someone screamed...
A little note from the author
Hi, my name is ILA Golden, and I am the creator of the Blood, Friendship, and Marriage series.I have been telling stories for as long as I can remember. In fact I have very vivid memories of telling my little brother stories about the adventures of two little field mice on the way to school in the morning, and I was only about five or six at the time. I'm not about to claim that I was some kid genius, I don't remember much about the stories I used to tell, just that my little brother enjoyed them, and I enjoyed telling them.
The older I got the more my love of storytelling grew. But the time I was eleven I'd completed my first full length short story, which held within it the beginning seeds of what would eventually develop into my own immense fantasy universe. Even then I was fascinated by the idea of magic, alternative realities, and the power of the individual to create change.
Don't be mislead by that last bit, I'm not one for writing the typical 'happily ever after' good vs. evil fantasy line. I'm fascinated by the layers of grey that makes up society, and by that I mean the way that people are never as good or bad as they appear. All my characters have the potential to be the heroes or the villains of their own lives, and nothing is ever as straight forward as it seems...
Additional Author Bio
(maybe its a blog)
It's nice, and peaceful here. The first week we moved in I completed the four part series I was working on and made a start on a new project, or rather picked up the project I'd created for my Final Year Project, since the first seven chapters got me a nice clean 2:1 i figured it couldn't be too bad a thing to continue writing again. I thought it'd be a one off, but ever the seriel writer that I am I'm already 14 chapters into part two and loving every minute of it.
Still this does mean that I will have to come up with two new series titles, since I've still to give the four part series an over arching name. Blast, why can't things be as simple as Blood, Friendship, and Marriage all the time. That title lended itself to the series
~ ah well to the drawing board (or rather laptop) I go.
Its nice to have friends
and when they're fans too they're even better
I have no idea yet if, and when the site will be officially up and running, but I'll be sure to keep you all posted.

- Thank you for the introduction to your novel. Maybe not my style but I hope your lens and your book finds a lot of readers!

- It's a very good book! I like how the characters develop and you can see how the events shape them into choosing their actions as adults. It's a heartwrenching tale that made me cry at the end and makes me want to read the next one (whenever the author gets around to publishing it... come on people read it and vote to make her publish them fast) I would strongly recommend this to teens and young adults and the young at heart. Also to those who like books that take place in ancient egypt or love fantasy twists, read this book, you'll love it.

- Okay this might seem like an odd link to include here as its neither about nor related to me, but I think if i were to have a sound track to my book, this song would definately have to be on it. Not only is it a beautiful piece of music its also really fitting.
Enjoy
