Who is Tim Minear

Ranked #125,439 in Entertainment, #1,325,409 overall

Tim Minear - tv writer, director, showrunner

Tim Minear was one of the main writer/director (and also showrunner for at time) on one of my favorite tv shows, Angel, and he has writing credits on a bunch of other shows I love as well, including Lois & Clark, X-Files, Firefly, Wonderfalls and Drive. On Firefly, Drive and Wonderfalls, in addition to writing credits, Tim was also the showrunner.

So naturally whenever I hear that Tim is going to be writing for or running a new tv show, I can pretty much expect that I will enjoy it -- that is, as long as it remains on the air, which you will shortly see is a bit of a challenge when your name is Tim Minear ;)

Dollhouse (2009)

Tim's next project

Tim Minear is currently working as consulting producer on the upcoming series Dollhouse. It looks like it will be coming in as a mid-season replacement since it is scheduled for 2009. I'm guessing January or February.

Eliza Dushku (Buffy, Tru Calling) and Tahmoh Penikett (Battlestar Galactica) as well as several other popular genre actors will star.

The show is about a futuristic laboratory that assigns different tasks to its various residents, who then have their memories erased upon the completion of their assignments.

Does Fox hate Tim Minear?

Either Tim Minear is some kind of pain-loving masochist or he's an eternal optomist. The noted show-runner has had three -- count'em -- 3 -- tv shows abruptly cancelled by Fox, after they thoroughly abused him by stuffing up the episode order and playing musical chairs with timeslots and airdates.

Actually, what am I talking about? We're really talking five shows. He was a consulting producer on Standoff (CANCELLED) and Executive Producer on The Inside (CANCELLED), as well.
