Tinley Park is a popular southwest suburb of Chicago located in both Cook and Will County. It offers a quaint downtown area on Oak Park Avenue with restaurants, shops, nightlife and historic buildings.

Established in 1853, but under the name BremenIncorporated as the Village of Tinley Park on June 27, 1890, commemorating the first train station agent named Samuel Tinley, Sr.

To acknowledge the village's German roots, Tinley Park started a "Sister City" exchange with Budingen, Germany, and has had the largest citizen exchange in the U.S. Tinley chose yet another Sister City with Mallo, Ireland
