About Tinnitus
Tinnitus is a symptom from from a variety of underlying issues that can include foreign objects or wax in the ear, ear infections, nose allergies that induce fluid drain and cause wax build-up. Tinnitus can be caused by natural hearing loss due to aging, as a medication side-effect, or as a byproduct of congenital hearing loss.
Most often, tinnitus is caused by noise-induced hearing loss.
Tinnitus is difficult to measure using objective tests, such as by comparison with noise of known frequency and intensity, as in an audiometric test. The condition often varies from "slight" to "catastrophic" according to the problems it causes, such as poor sleep, problems with quiet activities, and normal daily activities. Some solutions are available.
