The Killers will then do us the honour of headlining the Main Stage on Saturday 11th July. We can't get enough of this Las Vegas band, who have themselves hailed previous T in the Park shows as among their favourite ever performances. With their multi-million selling new album 'Day and Age', The Killers have made a brilliant return to the dance floor. Recent singles 'Human' and 'Spaceman', along with modern classics like 'Somebody Told Me', 'Mr Brightside' and 'All These Things That I've Done', will surely be among the highlights at this year's T.

From the biggest American bands on the touring circuit to the very best contemporary British live acts.

Closing 2009's festival are Blur. A welcome return for this iconic British band who headlined King Tut's Wah Wah Tent at the first ever T in the Park. Blur's 2009 appearance at the festival will be a chance to see one of their first live shows together for eight years.

Sunday co-headliners Snow Patrol are back to lend their very own brand of anthemic majesty. They debuted at T in the Park back in '99, headlining what would later become the T Break Stage. Singer Gary Lightbody recently said of T "It's like a home from home for us. It's (T in the Park) charted almost every step of our progress as a band, so we're delighted to be heading back."

Festival organisers DF Concerts and Tennent's Lager then went on to announce that Razorlight, Brit Award winners Elbow, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Katy Perry, Pendulum, Peter Doherty and White Lies were also confirmed as ace additions to the already epic bill.

A great live act - Keane are heading to this year's festival, bringing with them the dancier sound of latest release 'Perfect Symmetry'. Cue a heroes welcome in July when Franz Ferdinand strut out for their 3rd appearance at T in the Park this summer after a legendary Main Stage sing-along to 'Take Me Out' in 2004.

A real T in the Park treat, highly influential ska act The Specials stop in at Balado as part of their celebratory 30th year reunion tour to delight T in the Parkers with classic hits such as 'Ghost Town' and 'Concrete Jungle' whilst art rockers Bloc Party are a further fantastic addition to the T in the Park 2009 line up.

We'll be trying to sneak off duty when epics such as 'Laid' and 'Sit Down' fill the air as Manchester favourites James take the stage. Fresh off the back of 2008's surprise T Break Stage performance under the moniker Snake Derrick and the Vipers Paolo Nutini returns to showcase material from his highly anticipated second album. For a bit of soulful, emotional storytelling then catch the return of Irish trio The Script who, after their T in the Park debut last year on the Futures Stage topped the album charts with their eponymous debut.

Still topping the charts, Lily Allen is also set to return to T in the Park this summer. This is her 3rd visit to the event and her debut in 2006 still holds very special memories, as it was on stage in the King Tut's Tent that she found out that she had her first number one hit with 'Smile'. Anthems lie ahead with the addition of the Manic Street Preachers. The Ting Tings '08 King Tut's Tent performance was so memorable for front woman Katie White that she holds the T in the Park audience up as being the loudest in the world!

Idiosyncratic indie-outfit, Maximo Park head to T to 'Apply Some Pressure' and anyone who caught last year's Edinburgh date as part of The Edge festival will tell you that the live results are always spectacular. Who knows if we'll get a repeat performance of last year's romantic interlude, when Seasick Steve makes his way back to T? The Brit nominated bluesman invited two lucky ladies on stage and treated them to a serenade they'll never forget as part of his early evening 2008 set!

And, from the soulful and bluesy vocal of James Morrison to the easy going, sunny song writing of Jason Mraz via a whole different flavour of musical delight in Squeeze, T in the Park 2009 is shaping up to be the most eclectic to date.

Lo-fi noise makers Mogwai rendezvous at T to perform their brooding, atmospheric sound, and are complimented on this year's bill by prog-rockers The Mars Volta who bring their experimental sounds back to T in the Park, in their first set since a stunning performance in the X Tent in 2003. The kitschy and irresistible stylings of Bjorn Again sit alongside Californian piece Airborne Toxic Event who are tipped for big things, powerful well crafted guitars and soaring strings are always a T in the Park favourite.

From playing basement shows to opening for Bruce Springsteen, The Gaslight Anthem's rise has been meteoric and Portland quartet Hockey are set to be big news this spring with debut UK single 'Too Fake' already all over the airwaves.

Dance heads, please get set to throw some sensational shapes as Felix Da Housecat, Dave Clarke, Slam, Beardyman, Simian Mobile Disco (Live), Claude Von Stroke, and Silicone Soul are confirmed today for this year's Slam Tent line up!
