Where's The Instructions?

Don't you wish your little boy had come with his very own user manual? After all, how are you supposed to know the right time to begin potty training?

Unfortunately, life's not that simple. BUT help is at hand.

The Right Time To Start Potty Training Boys

Do you assume potty training boys has to be an ordeal? Well, it need not be. Where many parents go wrong is commencing toilet training before their toddler can cope. So when is the right time? It is not as easy as crossing off every item on a list but there are signs that will help you determine whether he is emotionally and physically able to handle toilet training.

He can manage to pull his pants down and up unaided.

He can walk and sit down unaided.

He shows signs of wanting to be more independent. 'I can do it' is a frequently used phrase used.

He is curious when his father or older brother goes to the toilet. He likes to imitate their actions.

He has regular bowel movements and is starting to notice the physical sensations that he needs to urinate or empty his bowels.

He can go a couple hours without needing his diaper changed.

He understands the words that will be used in toilet training such as wee, poo, dry and dirty.

He understands and can follow easy instructions such as 'Pick up teddy'.

He is not suffering any undue stress such as adjusting to a new baby in the house.

He can sit still without fidgeting for at least five minutes.

Having concluded your little boy is ready to be trained to use the potty I highly recommend you follow a proven system for potty training boys. You could say farewell to diapers in days. And you'll learn that teaching your child new skills can be a fun experience for both of you.
