Tips For Training a Labrador Puppy - For a Beautiful Friendship
Congratulations, for being a responsible owner and searching for Tips for Training a Labrador Puppy. Your new little bouncing bundle of joy, will bring much happiness to your life if you are prepared to teach him or her from an early age.
However, are you finding that your puppy is being a bit naughty? Not listening to what he or she is told, no matter how much you try? As cute and as cuddly as they look, they are a handful if they are not controlled.
Training a puppy does require a few skills however, you will need a good practical guide to achieve a good outcome for you and your pup. I also am the very proud owner of a Labrador Retriever and know how critical it is to teach your puppy to be well behaved.
I used an excellent guide that I downloaded instantly from the website. It has an instructional manual and a DVD so I could see what I needed to do. I found it really easy to understand how to train my Labrador puppy, and you will too.

Tips for Training a Labrador Puppy - How Soon Can You Begin?
Most Breeders will sell their puppies at about 8 weeks of age. By this time the puppies may have already learnt a few bad habits (mine had, from an older dog!). So its not too late to begin some gentle training soon after your bundle has arrived home, and settled in - perhaps a week or two.Remember, that puppies will have a very short attention span and they will tire very easily, so make the lessons very short to begin with. You will get to know when your pup loses focus, it may only be a few minutes that he can be managed at first.
Puppies in my opinion are like children. I started to discipline both my dogs and my children from babies. This way you have the control over them, and not the other way around, and I don't mean being a control freak, but you do need to be able to take control, when its necessary and your puppy will feel much happier knowing his boundaries.

Tips For Training a Labrador Puppy - Be Gentle and Positive
Everything and everyone responds to Positivity. If you are kind and gentle and praise your puppy when he or she does something right, you will move forward in leaps and bounds. Treats are THE best thing to arm yourself with while you are training a dog, especially a Labrador, it seems as if they have hollow legs!On the other hand If you are too hard or are cruel when training, and smack your puppy, you will only get rebellion back, plus you will confuse and scare the poor little thing. Give your puppy a break, he doesn't know what you are teaching him, and YOU cannot expect them to know it overnight. It takes much patience and persistence, but the rewards are well and truly worth the effort.
