Making Sense of AdSense

Google Adsense is an incredible program that has given ordinary people the opportunity to create passive income from their websites and blogs. Google Adsense is a free program that allows you to place content relevant advertisements on your websites and get paid when your website visitor clicks on those ads. You are paid a percentage of that ad value directly from Google Inc.

There are many things a publisher can do to help increase their earnings. This page looks at those methods to help content publishers make more money with the Google Adsense program.

The Quickest way to get a Google AdSense Account

if you don't already have one

I have applied this method myself and I have learnt from a lot of different sources that the quickest and surest way to get a Google Adsense account is to register via HubPages.com.

Register for your free account at HubPages.com and create a hub. Then go to the Affiliate Settings page in your account. Through that page you can register for a new Google AdSense account. Typically the registration process via HubPages takes only 3 days to get approved. Sometime it may take longer but 3 days is a typical approvement period.

The secret to earning big with AdSense

I'll let you on a little secret

There are people who make good money with Adsense on a monthly basis and then there are people who take several months to even reach their $100 payout threshold.

The secret to making good passive income with Google Adsense is to create multiple Adsense pages with unique and useful content and then drive targeted visitors to those pages.

The formula:

Multiple Adsense Pages + Unique, Useful, Updated Content + Ad Placement + Targeted Traffic = AdSense $$

Now let's break down the above formula.

Multiple Adsense Pages

The more the better

Multiple Adsense Pages: It's basically a numbers game. The more Adsense pages you have the more Adsense advertisements will be shown and the more chances you will have for someone to click on an ad.

Let's say you have a single Adsense page and that page gets 100 pageviews a month. So basically your ads are shown 100 times a month (100 pageviews x 1 page). Now, if you had 100 Adsense pages and each got 100 pageviews a month your ads would be shown 10,000 times (100 pageviews x 100 pages). More sites/pageviews will increase your chances of Adsense click-throughs that will in turn increase your Adsense income.

Unique, Useful and Updated Content

Give your readersa reason to keep coming back.

Unique, Useful and Updated Content: It is very important to write unique content. Do not copy content from other places because first of all it violates Adsense TOS and second of all you are not giving your reader a reason to come to your site. They can read the same content somewhere else. By writing useful content you are providing a good service to your visitors and they will come back for more as you update and add more content. Writing unique, useful and updated content will also help your pages rank well in the search engines and that will bring in more traffic to your sites which will increase your page views and your potential to earn more money with Adsense.

Targeted Traffic

The more the better

Targeted Traffic: Targeted traffic is the lifeblood of any business. There is no point of getting a million visitors to a page that talk about ferrets when your visitors are actually looking for information on dress shirts. These visitors will generate pageviews but will not click any ads and will be gone in a second.

If you have a page on ferrets then you need to find visitors that are looking for information on ferrets. That is targeted traffic. I believe that a 1,000 targeted visitors has more value and can possibly make you more money that a million junk visitors that only generate pageviews but do not click on anything.

So more targeted visitors = more possibility of them clicking your targeted Adsense ads.

Google Adsense Placement

Ad Placement: Where you place your Adsense ads on the page plays a critical role on your income. You should place your ads where the visitor can clearly see them and click on them. There is a whole science behind ad placement and I will not be going into it here. The theory is to place the ads in the right position and context on the page so as to promote more click-throughs and thus more Adsense income. A normal place to position ads would be on the left/right navigation menu, on top of the page and in the middle of the content.

Thanks...I love reading Adsense articles.

purplelady says:

I like it a lot. By now people are accustomed to seeing Google ads and so it is not startling to them when they appear on your site/blog. The fact that Google makes the ads appropriate to what you are posting is a major plus.

ajgodinho says:

I think it's an innovative program that allows normal people to leverage from it.

I don't like it.

Creating Multiple Adsense Pages

Creating lots of Adsense pages can be difficult and time consuming. It is easier if you are writing about a topic you are passionate about.

If you are running a website then I would recommend updating and adding new pages as often as you can. Create a second website and then create another one. There is no limit on the number of sites you can create and embed your Adsense codes into them.

The more websites you have the more pageviews you will probably have and that increases your chances of getting clikthroughs and money.

Working with Adsense Revenue Sharing Websites

There are many websites that will share their Adsense earnings or impressions with you for submitting your articles, videos and pictures to their sites.

This is good news for you. You do not have to manage any websites or blogs but simply submit your articles to such sites and you can stat earning money with Adsense immediately.

Most sites will require you to submit your Google Adsense publisher ID to their website to share their Adsense pageviews with you.

These sites share about 50%-100% Adsense pageviews impressions with you that your content generates on their sites.

Benefits of Using Adsense Revenue Sharing Websites:

=> No need to manage your own websites or blogs
=> Easy and powerful tools to create your content
=> Become part of a community where you can network, learn and profit with.
