We all know it: The Internet is a Jungle. There are Countless Traps for Newbies - Also More Advanced Internet Marketers Could Have Their Foot In Before They Are Aware....
There are incredible sums of money to be earned in the internet - the dream to create money out of nothing brings many to internet marketing.
One does indeed not need high investments to start a business online, so many things and services are free in the net...
But can't "free" be too expensive at times? The less there is to pay, the more there is to work - that is normal - only, who earns more from your work? Sure it is you? Or might someone else be taking more then his due share from your efforts, much more than in the job you perhaps wanted to get away from?
What can one expect for free and why?
The magic word FREE will always be a click magnet, everyone wants free stuff, but most people know by now: There must be a catch.
In normal everyday life, nothing like altruistic love and care exists, not at all in business.
Sure the mercheant loves his (potential) customers - they (might) buy from him; the marketer loves his affiliates - they sell for him; he loves those who fill his bankaccount. (And if he's not a pig, he gives the most valuable bonus: honesty.)
Every gift or free download is given for a reason. It can be truly valuable and free without anything in return. - The giver only expects to be well remembered, talked about, he wants renown, a good name. In business this is crucial. millions of competitors might want to sell a similar product of similar quality at similar price. - A completely free gift of some value lets the giver stand out.
Lol, usage of words 'free gift', but if something is always said like this, someone might misunderstand the phrase without it. - On the other hand, indeed there are gifts which are not free at second glance.
Mostly the 'price' is reasonable though - just sign up for the newsletter and give the marketer one more on his list - means, let him advertise to you, or when his newsletter is a good one, accept and respect him as a guru. So this is win-win: Gift for 'fame', or for business opportunity as his affilate.
This is still the most usual thing: the giver wants leads, affiliates, or a downline to be either. Reading his ads or advertise for him and the gifts are truly free. They cost no money. You want them, otherwise you would not take them.
(Unless you are a bounty hunter like me, which is not the worst thing either - As a newbie I thought, I could indeed sell it eventually, or give it away myself for the mentioned reasons - and of course there is always lots of things I could well use myself, if I found the time to try them...)
So yes, you can expect lots for zilch - without any hidden costs - the overload is not what must be warned about, nor that you probably cannot sell it anymore. - Just look twice at the gifts, specially at the Free Services that may cost you more time than they are worth.
Now This Is Really Cool And Free:
Feedburner and Dot TK
But take a look how well Dot TK now handle their own advertising on the free domains:
http://cyberspacelady.tk
This will bring them back into acceptance. I already bought a keyword domain for a German site, and I guess, soon people will again remember to try the ending .tk.... (if only to find out, whether that is also taken, as with all the possible other endings).
When "Free" Is Too Expensive
'You Will Never Pay A Dime' - but who than pays for it?
In the later is, where the catch can be. And you can fail to see it, which is quite normal even....
('Free Affiliate' - can be more then just a matter of silly usage - to be dealt with later)
