Best AdSense Colors

What are the best AdSense colors?

There have been many tests to prove a simple question. Would you like to know more about these tests or would you like me to cut to the chase? For now, you probably want me to cut to the chase.

Look at my ad unit to the right. It blends in pretty well with this page right? I mean, it seriously looks like a piece of this page. It looks like a piece of the content.

Top Ad Colors
Border: #FFFFFF; or no border
Title: #0000FF; - Site links should match this color.
Background: #FFFFFF; Site b.g. should match this color.
Text: #000000;
URL: #000000;

AdSense Colors - That's all?
Yes. Please refer to the "quick tip" below. AdSense is easy once you know how to do it. Using the formatted color scheme above will get you the most out of AdSense.

Quick Tip
Don't make choosing your AdSense Colors more difficult than it has to be. Everything you need to know about colors and AdSense is right above this text.

I will be discussing with you guys proper AdSense placement. Be sure to bookmark this page and come back for more.

Best AdSense Placement

Where are the best places to put my AdSense ads?

To put it simply, the best places to place your AdSense ads are actually shown to the right. You don't need to use any more ads then these three here. I've actually found that the less ads you have on your page, the more money you'll make with AdSense as long as your ads are placed in optimal areas.

Link Units under header
As you can see, I have placed my link units under my horizontal navigation - which is also just under my header. This is an optimal spot for an ad because people will usually see this as another form of navigation.

Link Units in sidebar
Whatever you do, make sure your vertical link units display in your left navigation. Nobody really ever clicks the right side of any page. If you do have a right sidebar navigation, I recommend that you flip it to the left side of your page.

Ad Unit below post titles - below "sponsored links"
Finally, we have the big 336x280 money maker. This ad is place smack dab in the middle of your page. This ad will likely receive the most clicks simply because of how well it blends with your content.

When placing this ad, you want to place it below your page post title. However, since AdSense doesn't allow misleading titles above AdSense ads, you have to place the words "sponsored links" between your post title and your ad block. Even with the words "sponsored links" above your ads, I think you will be quite surprised with how well this placement works.

January 3rd, 2008
I guess tomorrow is the 3rd. I'm getting confused already. Lol. Tomorrow I will go over my reasoning behind using less ads for more money with AdSense.

Less ads more money

When I first read about this I was quite skeptical for why would Google tell us to use the maximum amount of ads on each page if it wasn't going to make us the most money in the first place?

Remember, Google wants you to do well with AdSense. The better you do, the better they do. Remember that.

Test and Results
I've been testing this less AdSense ads more money theory for about a week now.

- My earnings have doubled.
- My CTR has doubled.
- My page eCPM has also doubled.

Analysis
Maybe it's a coincidence, but I am really thinking otherwise. My doubling CTR is easy to figure out. It's a result of less ads on the page. That goes the same for my eCPM. One well placed ad instead of 1/3 well-placed ads means a higher CTR and less page impressions. Thus, the eCPM also increases.

The real mystery of it all is in my earnings.
I believe that these increased because the highest paying ads that would normally be spread throughout the other 2 ad blocks were confined to that one ad block. Thus, my earning per click also increased.

Stay Tuned
I will continue to test my theory, but until I really get going with increasing my traffic I won't truly be able to tell.

This page will be regularly updated
