Fun Toddler Indoor Activities -
Cardboard boxes are great because they are free and also terrific for children's creative play.
Fill up your car with boxes from your local fruit shop or electric store and let the children make a great cardboard tunnel maze indoors or in your back yard. Ask family and friends to keep any cardboard boxes, so your children can have extra fun adding to their cardboard tunnel.
What You Need:
* Cardboard sheets or boxes of different shapes and sizes
* Strong masking or insulating tape
What To Do:
Help the children open out different sides of boxes and join them together to make tunnels. Long boxes can have a hole cut in the side so another box can be fitted into it.
Use the masking or insulating tape to hold the boxes firmly together.
Use a variety of boxes of different shapes and sizes to make the tunnel maze a real challenge.
When the tunnels are finished the children might enjoy decorating them with some acrylic paints.
They could even make a textured tunnel with different surfaces to crawl along bubble wrap, towels, carpet Hessian mats or just the grass.
If they want a spooky tunnel they could hang things from the roof of the tunnels such as wet plastic gloves, lengths of cellophane, crepe paper or partly blown up balloons.
Let them keep up their tunnels for a few days. By then their interest will probably have warn off and you can take it all to the tip.

As a long-time fan of TMBG, I often played some of their music to my 16 month-old son. I got the DVD a couple of months ago and my son absolutely loves it - in fact he clamours for it (by waving the DVD remote control in my face urgently).
I think it's TMBG's best work in a long time (and that's saying a lot). All the songs have very catchy tunes and are highly amusing: they'll have you humming after the first viewing. The visuals are also very well produced and kid-friendly.

Benefits Of Gardening For Kids
Apparently, we can see how nature is treated these days.It is a sad thing to know that people do not pay attention so much anymore to the environmental problems.
What can we do about this? It's as simple as starting with the children. It is good to see the children's involvement with environment-friendly activities . One such nature-loving activity that children could easily get their hands on is gardening. Why should you consider gardening for your children?
Here are the benefits that gardening could easily provide the children with:
1. Science
In planting, children are indirectly taught the wonders of science like the plant's life cycle and how human intervention can break or make the environment. They can have a first hand experience on the miracle of life through a seed. This would definitely be a new and enjoyable experience for the kids.

Toddler Gymnastics
When you watch your toddler racing around the house, rolling, jumping and tumbling off things, you might wonder why in the world, anyone would enroll a child that age in "organized" gymnastics. But the answer is quite simple. It's a way to channel their energy, provide them with a social time with other toddlers, and enhance development of gross and refined motor skills.
So popular is the activity, that academies are springing up all over the country.
But remember, you're not aiming for the Olympics here, and as rule of thumb, sessions that are taught at a local YMCA, or children's center, are often as well-supervised and beneficial, as those who emphasize their professional credits and facilities.
Classes in some areas can start with children even before they begin walking, with mother-baby exercises that provide a range of motions, touches, and balancing exercises which benefit the child in two ways: physical and emotional.
The time they spend with a parent, going through their program, is one in which they have visual and audio contact that strengthens the bonding.
Once your child is up on their feet and mobile, they're ready for an "organized" class in which a parent will assist them with instructor-led activities and exercises that help them develop balance, encourage locomotion, and discover that their world offers a lot of fun games associated with their own bodies, including tumbling, walking on a balance beam on the floor, and laughing at the antics of their friends.
Children two and up are developing independence, and the ability to understand instructions. Classes for this age group are usually assessed by the teacher, who can tell whether your child will continue to need you there with him, or is ready to rock 'n roll on his own.
